Sweet. Headed out Tuesday for the Toy Storys anyway. May as well get 40% off something at HPB while we're out. Plus, we'll be trading in our Toy Story DVDs, and will apply the trade-in money with the coupon to get...well, I don't know yet. But I bet it'll rock!

Only for use on ONE item? Anyone have any luck with cashiers allowing it on entire purchase or use of multiple coupons?

Used the 40% coupon on Tuesday for a Deadpool/Wolverine Graphic Novel & used the 30% off Coupon yesterday for X-Files: I Want to Believe on Blu-Ray. Just for the record, they use it on your most expensive item. It says pretty plainly only for one item on the coupon, so I wouldn't see anybody except a total numbskull taking it for the whole order. I might go back for one of the other coupons if we are in the area type thing.

I have printed out multiple copies of the coupons and used them at different stores on the same day. And I will confess that one time a couple of years ago, I found two items that I really wanted (using the 40/50 % off), so I just sent my wife over to the other cashier to check out at the same time I was.

I don't know how they price things where you are, but seriously, if you're at the point where you're wanting to apply a 40% off discount to your Half Price Books purchase, it might be time to take stock of things.
You should also make sure to get their calendars, which I suspect are long since gone. Each calendar includes coupons that can be used once within a two-month range (i.e., Jan-Feb; Mar-Apr; etc.) on an entire order. Also, I've been given a coupon good for 10% off a purchase for trading in items lately.

Went there last night and got Lost Seasons 2,3, and 4 on bluray for 54 bucks out the door. Pretty good deal if you ask me. Was about 18 a piece with a coupon for each
They had 0 problem doing multiple coupons, he just said we would have to do multiple orders.

With the 40 percent coupon I got the 1989 Batman Blu Digibook and with the 50 percent the Poltergeist Blu digibook. Nice as those were expensive when they came out.

To me the 1 big issue with 1/2 pb is I'll usually only buy new or clearance items (that still have the disc in the case). They put the discs from most of their used cd's & dvd's in plastic bags that scratch the heck of discs. It's a real shame.
A couple years back, i showed the manager of my local store a Japanese rice paper sleeve that wouldn't scratch the disc, but corporate wasn't willing to reinvest in 1,000's of disc storage sleeves.
