Band of Bros. is at Target this week for $29.99, so with tax about the same as this. I picked up a copy.

Amazing that this was $77.99 when I ordered it back on November 9, 2002. Has it really been out for 7 years or more? I guess so!

thats how much all HBO series cost then, i remember each sopranos season were running at 79.99-99.99 in retail stores 
hbo is still a tad pricey on some things but they are getting better at the pricing but yeah i bought mine at retail when this came out on DVD and to the people buying the BR you can save 8 bucks by buying the UK version (i think its on sale) ships right under 32 bucks

Yeah, the UK release is just 15 pounds without tax, which is just 25 bucks. It's been selling at that price for months, not just Deal of the Day, but always.

Best Buy is advertising 50% off of ALL HBO Blu-ray and DVDs next week!!! However, the Bestbuy.com website doesn't show the list price, so it's hard to say what it will sell for next week.
