Just picked up the OOP Silent Night Deadly Night / Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2: Double Feature at FYE for only $8.99 (used of course)!!!!!! :banana:
Now of course you are only going to find this for that price if your store happens to have one in stock but I would say for the price its worth the hunt if you have a few FYEs in your area!

I understand it's very very very YMMV but it's such an amazing deal. I know a lot of people are not die hard DVD hunters like I am but If I read that a used copy of an OOP title was going for an amazing price at a major chain store I would be getting in my car immediately.

Wish there were more FYE's closer to me for these kind of finds.

There used to be 5 within a 20-30 minute drive from my place, now it's down to 2 (with only 1 having a decent selection)

I bought it for $9.99 at Best Buy when it first came out. Don't know why it went out of print so fast. Wish they'd included the theatrical cut of the first movie, which has never been on any video release thus far. Would've been great if they'd also included the TV spots for the movie that scarred several kids for life. ;)

Jinxed myself. Went to one of the stores left in my area to find they were having a Store Closing sale.

Didn't find the Double Feature, but I got Santa's Slay for $3 :)

Santa's Slay is such a fun movie. It's worth three dollars just for the opening scene. I never thought that I'd see Fran Drescher get murdered by a killer Santa. Fun stuff.

Inspired by this thread, I decided to check out FYE while Christmas shopping at the mall last night. And while I didn't find the Double Feature, I did find the Uncut and Uncensored version for $8.99. Picked it up with Santa Slay for $4.99 and Drag Me To Hell (BD) for $16.99.

I agree, watched it the other night and had a blast.
Inspired by your post, I put mine up on Amazon just now, and will look at my local FYEs for a used copy. If it doesn't sell, no biggie, I'll probably open it on Christmas Day.

Probably for the best. The only thing you'd be missing out on in the sequel, at least the half that isn't scenes from the first movie, is a master's course on acting with your eyebrows...

Why would anyone jump in their car to rush to the store looking for a used copy of this OOP movie just because you happened to find a used copy at an FYI store wherever you live? This makes no sense.

Oh hey! Someone put a copy of the long OOP issue of Amazing Spider-Man #1 in my mailbox yesterday! I don't know why anyone would do this but maybe if you check your mailbox, you'll find that someone put a copy in yours too!

So I finally watched SNDN in its entirety tonight. Now I'm hooked. My quest continues for the Double Feature for Part 2.

Just how bad are Parts 3-5? At least I can rent those.

Because some of us are hunters. While others like you might go out on a Tuesday and drop $20.00 on a new release... We do not. If I read somewhere that someone found a great deal on a hard to find OOP title no matter how YMMV I might not rush out immediately, but I would most certainly be keeping my eye out when I was near the store they found it in. This is just a heads up to anyone who might have a FYE by them and might walk past it without even thinking that when/if they get a copy of this title in that its sells for so cheap. Sorry if it bothers you that some of us also enjoy the collecting aspect of this hobby and the thrill of the hunt. But hey... Whats the fun in hunting when we can drop $100 on this title on Amazon right? -screwy-

Part 2 is so bad it's funny, the rest are awful and boring as hell and not even slasher movies by any means.

Agreed! If i can score a single copy of a DVD that will resell for $100 (for example) I can then go stock up on 33 $3 BigLots! DVDs for my own library almost free of cost!!

Santa's Slay was just awful. That scene you mentioned should have been, at the very least, incredibly fun (all those stars getting axed), but it was all just so lifeless. The same goes for the rest of the movie. After it was over, I checked out the special features and saw Brett Ratner was heavily involved in this, and all I could think was...that explains it.
