Once you get to checkout, the item reflects the original price but there's a box somewhere along the way that says promotional discount ($12.00) and should be checked.

At least I think that's how it should work. When I ordered Blood Diamond earlier I was a little confused at first when it looked the price was higher in my cart.

Edit: Just tested it and this is what happens...except the promo discount is $11.50. It ends up being 1 step before the final order screen.

Interesting...I don't have the Add to Cart button anymore. I guess I am locked out because it is one per customer. I just assumed they closed the deal.

Anyway, it's going fast and will probably sell out soon so if anyone wants it, don't delay.

EDIT: ...And just ordered Volume 2 for $11 and change, shipped, from the Marketplace.

Actually, it looks like they are limiting 1 per account and that is why it is grayed out for those of us who purchased it.

Right now it is at 74% claimed.

Yeah, its one per account. I tried to get some extra 'Christmas Vacation' DVDs for gifts and it locked me out, then I signed out and checked it the deal was not anywhere near maxed out.

It's a "promotional certificate". It's there from a price adjustment.

In my cart the item shows "Special Price: $14.99" and the subtotal is $14.99 just like it should be. Once I go through to the final page of checkout I get this.

Code:

Items:          $26.49
Shipping & Handling:        $0.00
Promotion Applied:        -$18.00
Promotion Applied:        -$0.00
Reward Applied:        -$0.00
Lightning Deal:        -$8.49

Total Before Tax:        $0.00
Estimated Tax:        $0.00
Order Total: $0.00
Amazon Prime Shipping has been applied to the eligible items in your order.

It should be deducting $11.50 for the lightning deal, then taking the other $14.99 from my promotional certificate. Instead it appears to be doing the exact opposite and taking all $18 then not giving me the full lightning deal discount.

It'd be nice to pick up extra copies of some of these cheap titles, but I'm kinda glad they're limiting it to 1 per account. Otherwise, these probably would sell out in a heartbeat and leave many folks disappointed.

Re: AMAZON Black Friday Week Bargains

Well, very pleased with this LT deal and I've got five more cheap DVDs on the way from their other on-site bargains.

Don't see anything else I want on the lightning deal schedule, but I'll be watching for those "additional titles" they say they'll be adding Thursday and Friday, in case any are of interest.

Awaiting the $9.99 Wolverine Blu-ray later tonight!
Went ahead and bought Fight Club and Boondock Saints BR set for $22!
And the $15.99 Blu-ray preorders are *amazing* (Terminator, Hangover, etc)

Ah, I see. That is strange.

I concur with cardsfan. I think it is very fair that they are limiting these to one per account. This way as many people can get in as possible. I got one copy and am very pleased with that.

EDIT: Okay, LT is officially gone now. Congrats to everyone that got in.

OK, I answered my own question. I added Quantum of Solace to get my total to exceed the $18 certificate and everything discounted properly. So apparently you can not combine a lightning deal and a promo certificate on the same order without messing everything up. I had been considering QoS at $9.99 anyway, so I guess it worked out.

You have to go through the Black Friday link or on the item's page, look for the lightning deal button on the page to bring up the discounted price. Then you'll need to know that the discount doesn't show up in your cart until late in the checkout process.

Check the right-hand sidebar of the main Amazon.com homepage for a link box that says "Blu-ray New and Recent Releases Under $20."

The Hangover, Terminator: Salvation, and Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince are $15.99 now. The lowest yet.

Happened to me a couple of times as well. If you have an existing cart, delete all items, log out of your account, log back in and try. That's what I did and it worked

I missed the sale time, it was only good to 8 Pm EST. That said this sale sucks unless you are camped out in front of your computer and have Prime.
