34.39 - Mystery Science Theater 3000 Vol. 12
-5.00 - coupon code
29.39 - total

I'm happy with that. I'm wanting to hit up the B&N Criterion sale so I don't want to spend too much here. Otherwise, I would buy some more of the MST3K sets that I don't have.

Re: DeepDiscount 40% Off MSRP Sale 11/13/09-11/29/09

I don't understand the notion of "loyalty" to a company or store, just because they used to offer good deals. I buy from whomever is cheapest, whenever they are cheapest. Amazon seems to have the edge on DVDs and DD on CDs right now. I also have to factor in Amazon charges me tax, when i compare.

I think Amazon seems to gain the most money from me, when they price match things like a great deal from Target. If DD did that, they would certainly get more of my money.

Re: DeepDiscount 40% Off MSRP Sale 11/13/09-11/29/09

The matter of "they're (DD) not as great of a deal as they used to be" is more a matter of the competition has found better ways to price their DVDs more competitively, or even price match any loss leaders.
They all seek the cheapest sources for their inventory and it doesn't always come from the most logical providers, such as studios. I once had to contact an CSR executive at Universal about a defective disc in a season series. He asked where I purchased it (Amazon) and told me that on a different TV season series Amazon had somehow acquired a large number of boxsets that turned out to be counterfeit.
I plan on ordering some CDs at the minimum.

I ordered a few things and saved over 25% on the total order from last week's prices once I threw in the $5 off coupon. Add in the 4% cashback from bing and it's still a pretty good sale, at least for the discs I wanted.

Everything on my wishlist of about 20 DVD's and box sets is a total of almost $40 cheaper on DD compared to Amazon. Nothing like past sales where that number would probably have been $100-$150... but it's still cheaper. I'll be ordering from them on Tuesday once the Blu Gone With the Wind is no longer a pre-order.

GWTW is well over 40% off on Amazon now, and even cheaper at the Warner store ($41.xx) with free shipping.

Thanks for the $5 coupon.

I picked up the Columbia Film Noir set for less than $30 after the Bing cashback.

That will probably be it for me in this sale.

True. I am tempted by The Prisoner. However, it's tough when I have the original 2-disc releases (foolishly bought before I had learned enough to have my price guidelines in place). I checked wherehouse.com (FYE) and 2 out of the 5 volumes are worth $4 each... the rest squat... so only $8 at best. Now if I could get closer to $20 trade-in I'd go for the Blu-Ray. What price and where is the best place I could hope to get? (Please don't say eBay because when I usually sold there I usually got very low bids.) Does Blockbuster even buy used DVDs any more?

Have you tried newtownvideo.com. I find them to be better when it comes to selling the more obscure releases. I got $191 over the summer for my Farscape DVDs. I find selling this way much easier then going the eBay or marketplace route.

I am debating whether or not to order Mysterious Cities of Gold: Deluxe Edition w/ the $5 coupon for total of $42.97 shipped.

I had ordered the regular edition for $30 during DD's last sale, but it seems that version was quietly discontinued only months after its release, and my set never came in the mail. I don't need or want the extra crap, but its seems like that is the only option now.

The blu-ray is cheaper on Deepdiscount than Amazon, only by 10 cents but no tax and bing cashback helps.

That's a bigger discount than 40% off. But I guess it would make sense for them to keep that to compete with Amazon.

Most of my first order (placed early Friday morning) just came in as well.
I'd like to this this opportunity to thank all the people boycotting the sale this year year because I'm sure that helped expedite my order-
You guys rock!

I got The Prisoner Blu-Ray for $34.99 shipped with coupon. Seems like a great price for that. That's it for me this time around, I think.

Thanks for the $5 off coupon. 30.97 for the Esther Williams Collection V2 is around what I was hoping to pay with a 25% off sale, maybe a bit less.

Needed clone wars season 1 for the kids, so used the coupon for that. Still on backorder, but still a good price at $22.

I placed an order at DD using the 5 off code and bing. I just checked my Bing and the rebate amount was cancelled.
