Thanks for posting this, but....
Where are the deals? These prices are either horrible or average.
Maybe they haven't updated it to include the real sale prices yet.

Face it, DD no longer offers many compelling deals. (Example, Mill Creek titles "on sale" for last year's full price.) They used to have the best prices and best sales. How much is DD margin and how much is increased wholesale costs I don't know. I spent $400-500 there in '08. This year about $150 so far. The only redeeming factors are the 25% off sales.

In a strange turn of events, I've gotten better deals from Barnes and Noble (of all places!) this year than DD.
This "sale" is an example why.

I agree that I haven't seen as many good deals other then the 20% to 25% off sales. I recall about 1 1/2 years ago some pretty good B1G1 free deals that were sometimes better then their semi-annual sales.
However, some of those complete collections are 50% off, which a few years ago may have been thought of as a really good deal. It may not be DD not having as many good sales as much as it is more competition from Amazon and such, as well as overall prices being reduced.
For a variety of reasons prices have kept going down, more competition, and smaller profit margins as a result. Not that I'm complaining but my theory is that we are probably getting a bit spoiled as a result. I think DD gets most of the flack because we were use to them always being the lowest, which isn't always the case anymore.

not too long ago:
was dd one of the price leaders a while ago? yesh
did dd constantly have rotating sales? yesh
did the sales get even better and better? yesh
but now:
does dd now have lame sales? yesh
is the customer service worse than a year ago? yesh
do other e-tailers regularly beat dd nowadays? yesh
but this may change sooner or later again. ill bid my time and shop elsewhere for now
