FYE.com: 30% off used

FYE Guy on Twitter gave out the code FYEG30 which is supposed to be 30% off 1 used CD or DVD. I used it, and it took 30% off the whole order of used! And don't forget, free shipping on orders of $25 (only need to have a pre-discount price of $25).

^ Nice. Check out the Amazon Criterion sale thread for more discussion of shenanigans like that.

I don't care whether you or anybody else thinks it's sleazy, I care whether it's legitimately doable. Anyone know?

Not passing judgement(I reserve that for Cheato), but they have a monthly BSP deal where they charge your credit card $9.99 per month. However, the first month is free and you can opt out before the month is up and they won't charge your credit card at all.

Good to know, thanks for the info! I'll give it a go later today, most of their used prices are still absurdly high, but I see used Godfather and Die Hard sets in FYE all the time and 40% off would drop them down to a pretty respectable price :)

By definition, no, it's not.

I paid for my backstage pass once, and due to some error in their computer, it said it expired in 1823, or some year like that, and now they don't know (nor do I) when it expires. So unless they have updated it to expire a year from when they found the error, it's just going to work forever. lol.

Sounds like by definition, yes, it is.

I get these coupons in my email about once a month so I don't see why they wouldn't work.

Re: FYE.com: 30% off used

Success! And wow, that 40% coupon makes for some GREAT deals! Thanks a ton WTK!

First of all, it stacks with the 10% member discount, so it actually makes everything 50% off. Second of all, my FYE cashier let me use the coupon multiple times, so I got the Die Hard Blu-Ray collection for $25 ($50 - 50%), the Spider-Man Blu-Ray collection for $20 ($40 - 50%) and Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray for $9 ($18 - 50%). They are in like-new condition as well. Now I need to go to a couple of other FYEs to see if they have The Godfather and Bourne collections. I'm going to go back a few more times before I cancel the Backstage Pass to get some other really good deals. They have a lot of used Blu-Rays that are overpriced at $15/$20/$25 each, but would be extremely well priced after 50% off.

Not only that, but my cashier was actually encouraging me to reap the benefits of the membership and then just cancel it. Nice :)

Another thing to look out for at FYE is that a lot of their used Blu-Rays are actually brand new, with the stickers still on them and everything. I guess a lot of people get Blu-Rays as gifts and just trade them in without even opening them. My copy of Sleeping Beauty was like that, still sealed and an absolute steal at 9 freakin dollars.

SWEET! YMMV, but I went into FYE today and they stacked this coupon with the 10% off backstage pass discount plus they also stacked it with buy 3 get 1. I got four blu-rays for $30. Thanks for the coupon! I'm going to try at a different location tomorrow. I wish my local stores had more used to choose from....

The guy at my store gave me the option to do this as well, but it was cheaper when I just used the coupon on each individual Blu-Ray :)

The cashier zeroed out the cheapest one and then applied 40% off to the entire order.

Whoa, nice  I wish my cashier had done that, I had to do three separate transactions. I'll see if they can do that next time I go in.

Re: FYE.com: 30% off used

Just got another rad deal out of it. Hit a different FYE and they had The Godfather trilogy used on Blu-Ray marked as 62.99, but instead it rang up as 49.94

Ended up being 24.97 before tax. Thanks FYE :)

Re: FYE.com: 30% off used

Dazed & Confused (2 Disc Criterion Collection) - $13.06 + Tax
Fear & Loathing in las Vegas (2 Disc Criterion Collection - $10.13 + Tax
Saw V (Blu-ray) $6.68 + Tax

Also with out the coupon:
Unforgiven (Blu-ray) - $8.99
2001 (Blu-ray) - $8.99

Nice haul. Went to another FYE today and got the Batman Anthology Blu-Ray for $34 :)

Re: FYE.com: 30% off used

My nearest FYE sucks - not much luck with the coupon at the Fullerton, CA store. The cashier was only willing to charge 3 discs at full price, with 1 free, and a 5th at 50% off. I'll have to try a different store over the weekend.
