Some good titles available, but the prices have gone up so much that they're just much more than I'm willing to pay ($25 for independence day, office space and die hard?). I just can't justify $50 for 3 older titles.

There are a few newer ones in there for about $28 as well as some good values ($15.99 for T2 Skynet), but even with the hundreds listed, nothing I'm too excited about, especially with those prices. I'd rather wait for the titles to go on sale by themselves.

Even the bad movies that I was interested in (Rollerball) are more than I'm willing to spend. I miss the good-old $19.99 new-release Buy-One-Get-One HDDVD/Blu Ray sales they used to do! As much as I was looking forward to this sale, I'm going to have to pass.

Looks like I'm passing as well. I'm dying to pick up Raging Bull, but as others have said, $50 for three catalog titles isn't too hot.

For awhile there we couldn't get a decent selection, it was always the same things on sale. We've finally got a pretty good selection for this one, but the prices are bad.

Oh well, I'm still broke from barnes and nobles anyway!

I added Slumdog to my cart before the sale started and it's still at $13.99 even though it's $18.99 on the product page.

The prices went through the roof. Too bad. It's a good selection of titles.

Total = $40.98 ($13.66 each)

DaVinci Code - $22.49
Rent: Live On Broadway - $27.49
South Pacific - $24.49
Total = $51.98 ($17.32 each)

I've been waiting for those last 3 to hit my $15 price point. But I never see them under $20.

Target has The DaVinci Code as part of their Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal this week, which would give it to you for $15.

In fact. I think Amazon has just about all the titles available in Target's sale as part of their own, and they come out to about $15 each if those are the only ones you're buying. Obviously at Target you only have to buy 2 as opposed to 3.

Wow. I had nine titles in my cart. Eight went up in price and one went down (by a staggering $.50). Net is a $25.00 increase. I might have bought all nine at the previous prices but this pretty much kills it.

This is our generation's "5 cent candy bar." We'll be sitting around telling our disinterested grandkids "I remember back in my day when Blu-rays were BOGO!" Then they'll look up from their 3-D hologame and ask "What's a Blu-ray?"

Glad I got an order in the other day for 3. Ended up saving $10 over today's prices. 1 item's price didn't change or it would have been even more of a savings.

I'm looking through this sale to find titles I'm interested in and buying used copies for a hell of a lot less. If Amazon didn't have to be greedy and jack up the prices.

It looks like most if not all of the Target ones are listed for 22.49 on Amazon, which would come out to 14.99 each with B2G1.
Works for me since my Target was out of Pineapple Express.

so far the only movies ive found that remained the same were Final Fantasy Advent Children and Splinter @ 18.99. Everything else went up almost $5... glad i was able to order last week.

We all knew they were going to do this. I even checked late last night to see if the website was back up, before the prices jumped, but it wasn't. Darn shame. I'll pass.

Agreed. I just got Batman Begins on HD-DVD for $6.50 delivered. I started looking at Dark Knight blu-ray, only to find the best deal was about $13.00 for a used copy from Amazon. Honestly if it is a good seller, I'm not sure why people don't wait for used. Seems to be the best savings.

The $4-5 price increase per title killed my enthusiasm for this sale, like most of their recent b2g1 sales. Pass.

If one wants to reward a retailer for some legitimate sale prices, they should patronize Best Buy this week. They have some great blu-ray titles priced at 12.99 and 14.99.

I doubt that DVD Talk Bargains Forum denizens are Amazon's target customers. They probably hope to entice people who might otherwise buy BDs from BB or Target. Those people can, indeed, be pretty stupid.

As for pricing, Amazon is in business to make money and until the studios lower their wholesale prices, or offer other incentives, there isn't much Amazon or any other store can do. Selling BDs below cost, as Amazon did last November, isn't a very good business model. Loss leaders work only if customers buy lots of other stuff with higher margins, which is much more likely to happen in a B&M store.

Even with the previous pricing, this B2G1 sale wasn't much of a deal IMO.
