No luck on any of them, but...
I did find two nice surprises:

Man I wish I could find City of Lost Children somewhere. I keep seeing people finding it and I am getting jealous.

ditto that.Sometimes I feel like the local Big Lots read this thread and keep hiding this and a few other titles when they see me coming. I usually always buy something else, but I keep going back looking for this and others. BL, if you are reading this, I will keep coming back after I own this. I promise.

Add Frenzy to the Hitchcock findings. Just picked it up in Pittsburgh. I've found that and Marnie, both at different stores. It almost seems like stores are only getting one Hitchcock title in the new shipments. Still haven't found Trouble with Harry, Torn Curtain, or The Man Who Knew Too Much.

I finally gave up at Big Lots and bought it from here. Yes, it is twice the price plus shipping, but it is better than $20 elsewhere.

Has anyone found the Remastered Hitchcock dvds? Saboteur is one of the remastered copies. The others isn't.

Looking for the following titles, but nothing here where I'm currently staying in the Chicago area. Is it too much to ask to find one or more of these? It is, isn't it?

THE GARBO SILENTS
THE BROADWAY MELODY
HARPER
I CONFESS
THE ILLUSTRATED MAN
MARX BROS. DBL. (any)
BLOOD ALLEY/SEA CHASE DBL.

Saw, wanted, but didn't get:

The Rhinemann Exchange
Nutty Professor II: The Klumps
The Don is Dead
Reservation Road

...and many more I can't recall.

Cat People original or remake? I've seen the rest of the Lewton box Except the original Cat People at BL.

Might be the remake (SE), which is one of many I picked up at a Michigan Big Lots on the weekend.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Stopped by a couple of the Big Lots is Peoria, IL this afternoon. Picked up:

-Carrie
-Mad Max
-12 Angry Men
-The Graduate
-The Sandlot (Widescreen and Full Screen)
-The Man with the Golden Arm
-Easy Money
-Charles in Charge 1st Season
-Mad Dog and Glory
-Shaft Triple Feature
-Go West and The Big Score Marx Bros. Double Feature
-Storytelling
-Easter Parade (2-Disc)
-I Confess
-The Cincinnati Kid
-Loser
-This Boy's Life
-Blade: Trinity
-The Lady From Shanghai
-Reefer Madness

It seems like it's been taking a while for these titles to show up around here. I'm still on the lookout for "Career Opportunities" and "The Big Red One," along with the latest Universal shipment with "Lost Highway," etc. I will say, though, that whenever I travel to Big Lots, it looks like the selection has barely been picked over. No Peoria DVDTalkers out there?

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I hadn't been to my local BL in a couple of weeks, and was able to stop by yesterday. Some new titles were out.

Finally found and picked up The Science of Sleep.

Also got:
Door to Door (I remember seeing a preview for this and being interested).
War, Inc. (Cusacks)
Gosford Park

The ones I remember seeing but didn't get (and I am not remembering all of them):
Fathers' Day (Robin Williams/Billy Crystal)
Peaceful Warrior
Along Came Polly
Val Lewton Horror Double Features
Bean the Movie
Nutty Professor II
Peter Pan (full frame)

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Found in Michigan:

GARBO SILENTS COLLECTION
THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON
CAT PEOPLE SE
SNL BEST OF ALEC BALDWIN
MARKED WOMAN
WARNER HORROR DOUBLE FEATURE: CHAMBER OF HORRORS/BRIDES OF FU MANCHU
KNUTE ROCKNE: ALL AMERICAN
FOOTLIGHT PARADE
HIGHER AND HIGHER
THE GRADUATE SE
("Decades Collection")
CARRIE SE ("Decades Collection")
THE CARDINAL
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL DOUBLE FEATURE
(1959/1999)
LIVE A LITTLE, LOVE A LITTLE
I LOVE YOU, ALICE B. TOKLAS
THIRTEEN DAYS SE
SOMEONE'S WATCHING ME
SPIRIT OF 76
Longtime extra-guilty pleasure, but not a very good movie
EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC Ditto
NATURE OF THE BEAST
LIVING IN OBLIVION SE

The following were purchased from Big Lots in late December, but I still see copies of some of them on the racks at some stores:

ALL MINE TO GIVE (1957)
TORTURE GARDEN (1967)
CABIN IN THE SKY (1943)
XXX: STATE OF THE UNION (2005) ugh! Sold.
VERA DRAKE (2004)
MARY OF SCOTLAND (1936)
STATE AND MAIN (2000)
PENNIES FROM HEAVEN (1981)

IT HAPPENED ON 5TH AVENUE (1947)
WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (1966)
HARPER (1966)
THE WOMEN (1939)
WHITE HEAT (1949)
UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING SE (1988)
LADY FROM SHANGHAI (1948) 8)
WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006) Ugh #2. Sold
DARKER THAN BLACK VOL. 1 (2008)

The only advantage in being Canadian and getting these deals is the comparatively high resale value on Canada's Amazon Marketplace. The ones I haven't felt inclined to keep after viewing—which is most of them—have helped pay a few bills much faster over the last few months because so much of this stuff is simply unavailable in stores or online up here at reasonable prices!

^The one I found is the original... "Restored and in color for the first time":

from Legend. Also has the original B/W version and "Rifftrax" commentary.

I went looking in Harrisburg, PA area for 'The City of Lost Children' today. Didn't find it... but I did find a copy of 'The Dark Backward (SE)'.
