Thanks to all the posters for all the great info!
Are you serious? McMillan and Wife and Simon and Simon? Are those season sets at Big Lots and if so, which ones?

They seemed to hit a lot of the stores about 2 weeks ago.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Maybe I missed this mentioned but I hit Big Lots out my way the other day and noticed most of the WB titles(maybe some others) have been slashed over the bar codes right into the case, are they always like that? I was rather bummed as they pretty much can't be resold if you ever wanted to get rid of them or if they became valuable for some odd reason. I would say like 80% of them were like that .

Yeah, you'd better want the title enough to count on owning it. There must be a less destructive method of altering the UPC symbol to indicate a catalog cutout. I figure Warner must own a subsidiary company that makes bandsaw blades.

Who gives a shit if the UPC is slashed? DVDs are bullshit anyway. All this stuff is going to be available free of charge online just like music...

You know I was really wanting this along w/ the Shaft 3 movies and Home Fries/Mickey Blue Eyes/Singles. Three dollars is pretty good for 3 so-so movies. But when I got home I noticed that ALL these (that were previously flippers w/ FS/WS) were ... FULL SCREEN. Warners had a choice and in ALL these cases chose freakin' FS.

Also, are you sure about Gimme A Break? At my BL they were $4.

Did get the last copy of Trog, along w/ another Marx Bros. double feature. So not a total loss.

Strange, it was definitely $3 (I got it for $2.50 during the 4/$10 promotion) at the store I picked it up at and it appeared to have been sitting on the shelf for awhile - unless someone was trying to save it for later as it was way behind all the PC games on the wire rack they always have, while all the new titles were in cardboard "bins".

Your right, it was $4...

If you can't find it at Big Lots, check out your local Walmart's $5 bin.

Yup, noticed that too. All 4 of them. Actually an entertaining scene with Jennie Finch pitching to Barry Bonds softball style on this disc I believe.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Is it common for BL to restock the same titles? I noticed that this week amongst an influx of anime.

Bought these:
  • Up and Down
  • Tokyo Godfathers
  • The Butcher Boy (slashed)
  • Everything is Illuminated (slashed)
  • 13 Conversations About One Thing
  • Gosford Park

I assume THE GRADUATE was the 2005 version with no special features? Terrific movie, btw.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The copy of THE GRADUATE is part of the "1960's Decades Collection" and includes a mini LIFE Magazine "Eye on the '60s" insert and a CD featuring '60s songs like "California Dreamin'" and "Wild Thing". The DVD of THE GRADUATE contains a documentary and a one-on-one interview with Dustin Hoffman.

Other Central Ohio finds today included "FFOLKES" with Roger Moore & Anthony Perkins and Volume 3 of SPACE GHOST COAST TO COAST (2-disc set) for $3. No slash through the bar code on this WB title.
