Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
just out of curiosity, what % of these movies are people enjoying?
I must have bought almost 100 B/L dvds since I found out about the $3 sale, and have to admit that 80-90% of these I am disappointed with, and some i couldn't even get past the first 30 minutes.
Now I have tons of DVDs, many with slashed UPC codes, that I can't get rid of. Sure, I can donate them to a library, but I didn't realize this was a charitable donation when I bought these. : )
Nobody's fault but mine. Clearly the $3 price point got me interested in getting stuff that normally I would never have on my official wish list.
Are people actually ENJOYING these movies?

Didn't see any of the $8 Universal sets... Hopefully they show up here since I would probably grab Law & Order.
Picked up Revelations (the TV mini) for $4 though... Total blind buy. The receipt was marked UNIV SNL TV ASST and I spotted a bunch of the Best of SNL titles for $4 each. So, maybe there's two different batches of Universal television on the way.

There weren't many copies of the Universal boxsets. There was two Bionic Woman and one Sliders season 4. Maybe I got there too late though and the others sold. I want to get the first Sliders set.

Even at $3 each I'm careful to research review, view trailers, etc before opening (often purchase and return) so have had great luck. I try to avoid the slashed UPCs unless it's something I know I'll want to keep (but not want enough to care about product damage).

New sets to look for now. Thanks for the picture Perkinsun Dzees!
A Big Lots near me had a significant restock yesterday, but it included all the latest wave of titles.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I have traded in plenty of slashed UPC titles at FYE and CD warehouse in the past. But I'd say I'm probably 85% happy with the 3$ flicks I have bought. For the most part a movie would have to be pretty shitty to not be worth at least 3 bucks. I remember the days when VHS tapes cost 4 bucks to rent at blockbuster. So for 3 bucks I own it? And can get 1 or 2 bucks back in trade? Not a bad deal.

Thank god the sets that are showing up have so far been nothing I am interested in. That last Warner hull was crazy. Is pent waaaay too much money those few weeks. Surprised the mortgage got paid that month. LOL.

I've enjoyed everything that I've opened and watched so far. But I'll admit that there are a couple hundred in the unwatched mountain. But I generally only buy the titles I know I'll like, or genres that I partially collect.

How much was Charles in Charge?
My store, as usual, hasn't gotten anything new for weeks. They got a double shipment of the Sony stuff at the end of November for some reason so now they've got like 500 titles that are just going to sit there forever.

I've stopped buying the $3 titles for the most part. I found that I was just grabbing things because they were a "good deal." I haven't been to BL in a month! Might stop by to see about some of those TV seasons though as I doubt they will make it to BLU, which is mainly what I buy now.

Most of those are $8? Weren't some of them cheaper at WM and BB during Black Friday? Think Bionic Woman has been $5 at BB for quite some time.
Those prices are a little higher than I will go for those sets.

That incredible Hulk set is going for $62.99 over at Amazon, of course the marketplace is cheaper by $40 bucks.
Look for the Resellers to be out in force over this one !

I just hope I can get my hands on 1 copy of The Hulk, Sliders and Surface. The rest, not so much for this sci-fi geek. (Law and Order? The only use I've ever found for that is as an alternative to AMbien)

Thanks for the heads up & pics Perkinsun Dzees. Just more to look to BL for.
Seen a few of those titles on sale recently at different places - WM.com for "Gimme a Break", "Sliders", Amazon for "Sliders" (tho' not a great price) - to name a few.

Stopped by BL on lunch...none of the above sets were there. I'll keep checking back though as I'd really like to score at least the Hulk set.

Thirteen Ghosts
Chisum
Kings of South Beach
Youth Without Youth
His Majesty O'Keefe
Double Feature - Train Robbers/Tall in the Saddle
