Picked up the Harold complete series for my son a few days ago. It makes a great "wind down before bed" show for young children.

Yea me too, I went a month without buying from BL and now if I go once a week I'm lucky.
Also while some of those boxes were cool Kubrick,Wonder Woman ..in the long run I'd rather find and buy stuff like "My Man Godfrey" and "Gun Fury", I will watch those far more than Wacky Races.

I do not miss the constant stops.. but I do miss the thrill of the hunt.... Now we just have to wait for the next "big" thing... maybe Blu's for $6.. or another batch of $3 or $6 Box Sets..

I have seen both of these sets in Cincinnati as well, along with some of the individual Harold volumes at the same price.

The new ad is showing Halloween Horror titles for $3. They are all titles that have been listed before, like Mothman Prophesies, The Fog, Urban Legends, etc.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The box sets were great, I wish I could have found the Looney Tunes Golden Collection but I got pretty much everything else I wanted. I'm glad to see that the 3.00 movies are at least coming in steady streams.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I was at the Burien, WA store this evening. They didn't have any box sets anymore, but they did have some good movies:
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Anatomy
Following
Hostel uncut
976-Evil
The Green Butchers
a bunch of anime
and more

I used the 20% off coupon and got 36 movies for $84

I'm kind of glad I never saw that as I paid almost full retail for the first 5 volumes. Also paid full retail for Top Cat, Wacky Races and Johnny Quest. At least the ones I found for $3.00 made up for it. I wish now they would release more Hanna Barbera like Quicksdraw McGraw and Ricochet Rabbit. I wouldn't mind paying full retail for those and several others.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Found An Evening with Kevin Smith 2 (2 disc) and Stan Lee's Mutants and Monsters dvd. Other than that, nadda. There was an obvious restock of dvds but nothing exciting.

I did see Following but didn't get it because Criterion is going to be re-releasing it. Hopefully during Christmas, there will be some goodies.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Today I got

The Pursuit of Happyness- $3.00
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer- $3.00
Eight Crazy Knights- $3.00
Carlito's Way: Rise to Power- $3.00
Action- $3.00
Kingdom Hospital- $3.00
The People Under the Stairs/Shocker- $6.00

= $24.00 - $4.80 (20%)= $19.20

Action was the only TV show I could find. I have never heard of it, but I was willing to try it for less than $3.00

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Maybe it's just me but Big Lot's selection has sucked lately around my area. I have bought maybe 4 dvd's at the most the last month. I have no interest in horror films and the restocks are starting to get really old.

I would love to see a new release of WB films hit the BL stores. Maybe after Halloween we'll see something different.

Just a short rant. I do still keep my eyes open at BL; found two gems the other week. But it has been mostly a bust

didnt you hear us talking about "action" last week? if you are not easilly offended, you will love it, it is prob the filthiest sitcom ever made for network tv. I recently watched it again after not seeing it in awhile, and while watching the making-off featurette, I saw that the show was originally pitched to hbo, but they didnt want to pay the producers as much as they wanted, so they tried to get a bidding war going, they pitched it fox, and fox fell in love with it and outbid hbo for it, its a shame because I am sure if hbo had picked it up, the show would have had a longer run. they made 13 episodes, but only 8 of them ever got to run on fox before it got cancelled.

question - was kingdom hospital the full series? madacy released the full series last year packaged in a metal tin.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Picked up the following today for $2.40 each:

Wieners (2008)
Levity (2003)
First Snow (2006)
Moonraker (1979)
Out of Reach (2004)
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967)

I was hoping to find more Bond movies to complete my set but I guess I'm either too late for that game, or they never showed up at my store.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The Bonds went quick this time here... Moonraker, one lone copy, was the only one left in Lexington this evening. I checked both stores. Did see some new stock since last week... Which still leads me to believe that Tuesday night is the night here for restocking. My unwatched pile though... is now freaking ridiculous so I'm only stopping on Fridays.

Only disc that I grabbed this week.. Cirque du Soleil - Dralion (Superbit). [Turfland]

Hopefully the Halloween ad will clear some more shelf space.

On the box sets, yeah, I'm a little relieved that the flood came to an end. But, of course, I'll be there at the next report of any sightings.

edited to add... Turfland also had the Dragonball Z steelbooks and a lot of anime, if that's your thing.
