The laserdisc of Chinatown issued in 1991 has a music-only track.

Man, I'm too anal for my own good.
It's late I need to sleep, but it's nagging me.
So I checked...
I have a correction and discontinuity to report; an amendment to my earlier "Chinatown" post.
screenshot from the 2007 release
If you bought the Centennial Collection version, you can skip on the 2007 Special Collector's Edition. All the extras carried over.
You still will need the 1999 edition for the "Retrospective Inteviews".
Here's the problem, the rear of the 2007 re-release reads...
As you can see from that screenshot, there are only three featurettes on the disc and of those three only one is listed on the back cover. We get "Chinatown: Filming" and "Chinatown: The Legacy" in the place of "Chinatown: Style", "Acting Chinatown" and "Chinatown: The Classic". Were they renamed and two featurettes merged as one? Don't know. There is no second page on that screen.
I'm confused.
Unless those missing extras were marked for the eventual Blu-Ray.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I returned to one of BLs I went to yesterday and they had put out more $3 DVDs. I saw 2 copies of Sunset Blvd. Centennial Collection, Thief of Hearts, 2 Elvis films-Roustabout, Fun in Acupalco-,the edition of Chinatown that is not the Centennial or Collector's Edition...can't remember the others right now. I also noticed they had plenty of copies of Ghost in the Shell 2 that were marked as v4 for $5.

There's also a kinda sorta 4th version of China Town with a Red Slip cover (slip cover is the only difference between it & the black 1 disc). I've only seen one of these so far.

The San Bernardino, CA store has been restocked.
Picked up:
"The Two Jakes: Special Collector's Edition"
"Gung Ho"
"Where's Marlowe"
Just saw one other copy of TTJ. And with that, I've completed my set. Until they make that third installment.
This is the first time I've come across this; "Where's Marlowe" came with insert AND a Paramount catalog featuring stuff coming out for Spring 2000. "Gung Ho" also came with insert.
Question.
Did "Barb Wire: Unrated" have one, an insert?

Stopped by Midwest City, OK store last night. They did not get the new $3 restock yet. It was interesting that they had DVDs priced at $3, $4, $5, $6, $8 and $10. I don't think they've ever had such a wide range of prices at the same time.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I was surprised that the version of King Kong ('76) they are selling is the one with the World Trade Center on the cover. I thought that went OOP immediately after 9/11.
I also picked up for $3 each:
Chinatown
American Gigolo (I Love the 80s edition)
An Officer and a Gentleman
The Hunter ('80)
The Stepford Wives ('75)
Sunset Boulevard (Centennial Collection)
Flashdance
Funny Face (50th Anniversary Edition)
The Two Jakes (Special Collectors Edition)
Beverly Hills Cop II (I Love the 80s Edition)
Clueless ("Whatever Edition") (Canadian version)
Bad News Bears in Breaking Training
Bad News Bears Go To Japan
Death Wish
Hot Rod
The Wild Thornberrys Movie
Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius
I saw a whole bunch of other Paramount movies but I'm not familiar with them. My hands could only hold so much.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I started having similar problems so I went looking for a solution. And I found a good one for Mac users. I'm using a DVD catalog program called DVD Hunter which downloads it's data from Amazon. The best part is the version called Hunter Touch for iPhone and iPod Touch. I catalog everything on my Mac and then sync it to my iPhone. When I'm shopping and I'm not sure if I already have something I can look it up and not worry about needing an internet connection because it's not a web based list.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I saw two new batches at different locations yesterday and they were both the same with not very good titles at all. I'm hoping to hit a few other locations soon because i really want to find Thief Of Hearts and that Chinatown (Centennial). I was told however that the 4 for $10 deal is coming soon in an upcoming ad.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I have the same problem, and have bought quite a few titles I already own. I just take them back. I do have my collection alphabetized and also keep an updated text file on my computer that lists all my titles. I recently downloaded an app that lets you view text files on an iPod, but I haven't gotten around to setting it up for that. If you own an iPod that could be a solution for you. The app is free BTW.

Can anyone confirm finding Chinatown and Sunset Boulevard in the Centennial Collection? I found copies of both films at my BL but they were not Centennial, simply collector's editions.
