My Big Lots stores haven't had shit for about four months; just the same picked-over and slowly shrinking selections.

Ditto here.
The only things I saw of interest at mine were one of the box sets of 7 Bond movies including Octopussy for 26.00 and "the complete series" of Gross Point for 3.00 which didn't look like my kind of show. I did pick up Stander to give to my dad for Christmas, I rented that via Netflix at random a few years back and enjoyed it.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Stopped by a store I've never been to and they had a bunch of the $8 box sets:

Simon & Simon S1
The Incredible Hulk (Ultimate Collection)
Conviction: The Complete Series
Surface: The Complete Series
Sliders S4
Revelations Omnium Finis Imminet - $4
Blind Date - The Ultimate Uncensored 3-Pack
McCloud S1&2
McMillan & Wife S1
Law & Order: Criminal Intent S1
Law & Order: Trial by Jury
Fear Factor S1
Bionic Woman
Charles in Charge S1
Gimmie a Break S1

Also for all you DVDTalkers in the greater Los Angeles area, the $3 dvds are now 4 for $10. See page 3 of your snail mail ad. Good from Saturday Dec 19 through Sunday Dec 27, 2009.

Note: you do NOT have to buy in groups of 4. The cash register software is set up so that as long as you buy 4 or more (e.g. 5,6,7, etc) you will get the $2.50 price for each.

Also saw some new-ish $3 dvds:

The Bridge of San Luis Rey
After the Sunset
School for Scoundrels
Blade: Trinity - 2 disc

These movies had the orange price stickers instead of the white price stickers. Not sure if it is a new batch or these have been laying around for awhile.

I haven't seen it yet. I got the sequels so hopefully this shows up in the next batch.

Today I found the Pang Brothers Bangkok Dangerous.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Hello all,

Long time reader here, but first time poster

Just returned from my local BL and bought:

Body Snatchers (1993)
Class of 1984
Science of Sleep
13 Ghosts
Last Man on Earth
Man's Best Friend
Outpost
and to my surprise: Dogma. It was the only copy

I had never seen the latter at my local store (I go every Thursday cause that's when they re-stock everything).

Later tonight will be driving about 35 miles to the next town to see if that other store has any different titles (I really just go to look for scary movies, but sometimes like today, will find something non-horror that looks interesting).

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Tacoma, Wa update: 72nd had NO dvd's. Said they had a small batch earlier in the week & had sold out.

Bridgeport gave me bad info on the phone yesterday. Large restock of everything posted here recently EXCEPT no Bond boxes, & very little classic Warner (no Garbo or Eddie Robinson). They even had a legend restock, & I finally got Bugville & She. I'm ASSUMING that She is a lower bit rate of the Kino 2 disc editon without the Kino extras as Kino stated they used a Legend colorized version for there edition.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Box sets arrived here. All mentioned above plus:

Kate & Allie S1 @ $4

There were multiples (4+) of each except "Sliders" S4 which had one. I'd have snatched it up had I not picked it up at amazon for $12.49 a few weeks ago.

...and *lots* of restock on recent Warner titles (mostly the recent "holiday" assortment) with most "slashed".

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Didn't see any of the TV seasons at my local Big Lots (Clairemont Square one), did find a ton of the WB DVDs. Most the same stuff previously mentioned. They were 4 for $10. Got the following for myself and for gifts:

13 Conversations About One Thing
Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys
In the Company of Men
Key Largo
The Nines
The Science of Sleep
Tightrope
Witches of Eastwick
Youth Without Youth

I haven't seen Lady from Shanghai or Kansas City, but I'll be on the hunt for them now.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

so i stopped in and rummaged through what they had today and i found a val lewton double feature, isle of the dead and bedlam. and i was wondering if any of the others from the set have shown up? i'd love to pick them all up, especially the cat people double feature.

also got: my man godrey, transsiberian, nowhere in africa, the cincinnati kid, and the wrestler (used) all for 2.50 each, they seemed be on sale for 50 cents cheaper.

Those 2 are the only ones I've seen at BL. I passed on both as I was lucky enough to pick up the box set new for ~$22 last year. All the single releases from the set except for "Cat People/The Curse of the Cat People" are OOP. Because of this, unless you want only a title or two, the set is the only way to go.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Hey guys, first time post here on the forums but a long time reader. I appreciate all the info that the forums have and all the contributions put into it.

So here goes my trip to my BL in Memphis, TN. They had roughly 2 racks and an end-cap full of various DVDs. Sadly they also mixed in some PC games and Christmas music . As far as TV sets they had a few Law and Order, Simon and Simon and 1 Bionic Woman S1. Sadly no Sliders seasons which is the main reason I went. There were tons of foreign films mostly Latino. I also found only a small handful of WB titles at my store.

Here's what I suckered myself into buying.

Fun with Dick and Jane
One Last Score
The Big Bounce
The Glimmer Man
Fire Down Below
Punch-Drunk Love
For the Love of the Game
My New Gun
The Corruptor
War Inc.
Bionic Woman S1
Trial and Error
The Final Hit
Day Zero
Stark Raving Mad
The Nines
Jack & Jill Vs. The World
Under Siege 2

Gifts (Mom and Dad like Dolph Lundgren) -

Slap Shot 2
Diamond Dogs
Agent Red
Storm Catcher
Operation: Wolverine Seconds to Spare

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

A whole lot of nothing at the Niles, IL Big Lots on Dempster Street. Wow, so pathetic it kind of breaks your heart, like the sad, fat, ugly girl at home watching TWILIGHT on prom night. It almost makes you want to buy one of those previously viewed copies of GIGLI or a (insert title here) Starring Eric Roberts direct-to-video-to-asswipe just to kinda cheer the poor girl up a bit. Almost.
