What version on JB movies is everyone looking for? I can't keep up with the different releases.

They're asking which version of the releases, not which movies.

I haven't seen many at mine, but aren't they the original single disc releases?

Re: Big Lots Part 6

Picked up the following $3.00 items today at the Big Lots in Wintersville, OH:

Top Cat complete series
Wacky Races complete series
Josie and the Pussycats complete series
Adventures of Superman (George Reeves) seasons 2, 3 & 4
Lois & Clark 1st season
Appleseed Ex Machina (last copy)
Tales from the Crypt seasons 3 and 5
Justice League Secret Origins/Batman the Legend Begins 2-pack

That was most of their selection. I passed on Scooby Doo, Flintstones season 3, Pebbles and Bam Bam, Larry King, and Ben Stiller.

They only had a few more copies left of most of the stuff I bought. Lots of Josie and the Pussycats, but maybe one or two more copies of the other titles at most.

I was hoping to find Johnny Quest, Popeye, and the bigger boxed sets, but no luck. I'm happy with the haul I got, though.

Re: Big Lots Part 6

Just came from Clifton NJ
They got some, but not much, and they were going fast. No $10 sets, and the manager I asked said they probably aren't going to be getting them.

I grabbed a few Hanna-Barbera's, including extras for trade: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/9596213-post623.html

Saw a few movie titles I haven't seen mentioned before:
The Invisible Circus (Christopher Eccleston / they had 1 copy)
Happy Campers (Brad Renfro / they had 1 copy)
Speed Racer (the 2008 live actioner / they had 1 copy / passed cos it's FF)

Also saw:
Ben Stiller Show (one copy)
Larry King Interviews (several)
Flintstones S2 (several)
Flintstones S3 (several)
Flintstones S5 (one copy/not sealed)
The War At Home S1 (numerous)

That's the same way I feel about a few items. I've only got one store within 15 miles of me and it's been pretty cleared out each time I've been. It's not a highway drive either so it's a pretty freaking long drive considering it's only 10 miles from me. I was debating going again tomorrow after work but I'm just kind of burned out on the whole thing. I posted what I was looking for in the Exchange Thread so hopefully that'll work out.

All the ones I got are the original single-disc ones.
The only new remaster I saw was a Dalton title - I think it was "The Living Daylights". From what I've been reading, that's the only remastered one that ever showed up, isn't it?

I really really really really really want them but I am kinda sick of looking for them.

It has been real slim pickings here lately. Hopefully tomorrow there will be a generous restock at the St. louis stores. Fingers crossed.

I will look out for the Miracle sets for you and maybe stash them or just buy them up and we can talk later.

The Woodbridge, VA store had a cardboard display with a bunch of the Bond titles until a day or two ago but now it's gone.

When the first $6 sets showed up I asked if they had any more and they brought out the rest of the $6 sets in a buggy for me to look at. I buy a lot of DVDs from my local store and unlike some of the BL employees mentioned in this thread they are all nice folks. So I'm hoping I'll actually get to see some of these titles on Thursday. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to BL's distribution methods but here in GA and FL looks like we were left out of the deal on the $3 and $10 sets. GL to all.
I drove from Tallahassee to this store on Friday and all they had were tracy takes on, animanaics vol 2, joey, etc. i feel your pain, man it's the same at my store.

Re: Big Lots Part 6

My stores finally put out the $3 ones! I guess they had been sitting on them waiting for the sale.

I got:
Flintstones seasons 2,3
Popeye Volume 1
Adventures of Superman seasons 1, 3/4. Completed that set for me
Tales From the Crypt seasons 2-5
Johnny Quest season 1
Space Ghost complete
Birdman & the Galaxy Trio complete
Huckleberry Hound Volume 1
Dastardly & Muttley complete
and Veronica Mars season 2

Finally a really good day! I thought for sure they'd be dry by the time I got there but that still had a whole table full.

Both stores had Popeyes, Flinstones, small quanities of other H-B animations, I scored a Pinky & the Brain set, Adv. of Superman TV , second season and seasons 3&4 sets, but low in quantity.
I am hoping both stores will put out more tomorrow, but could depend if they have shelf space to do so. I'd love to find Bond movies! If someone finds goodies at the Plainfield store, please post, have not been there yet.
I was at the Plainfield store on Friday, they had very little, a few Tracy Ullman sets, a few Larry Kings, and about 4 Roots Collections. I'm going to try to hit the Plainfield store again on Sunday to see if they get anything new, I will post if I do. I hit 28th st. and Division today, 28th street had next to nothing, Division had quite a few 6.00 sets but was pretty wiped out on the 3.00 sets. Incidently, I saw the Roots sets on the top shelf on Wednesday, I drove to that store looking for Roots as it was the only Grand Rapids store I hadn't checked yet (Plainfield got some in the next day). I bought a set, opened it in my car because of the packaging problem causing scratched discs, thankfully my set was perfect

Do you have link as to what the Celtics set looks like? I am wondering if it is like the Lakers Set.

Would you be able to pick an extra one up?

Re: Big Lots Part 6

So the James Bond films are available at Big Lots then. I guess it's all based on location and what might be available title-wise. Please keep me updated on whatever else is being found at these stores. Hoping some other Illinois or Indiana stores will have them.

A few months ago my store had a ton of the James Bond movies. They were in the ad back then though so thats probably why I haven't seen them there in a while now.

Actually they're not really available at Big Lots with any kind of regularity. If you happen to see them when they are first put on the shelves you may have a chance at buying them. They sell quickly and you may get lucky enough to find a hidden title or two. Popular tiltes and exceptional deals don't stay at BL long.

FYI, several of the original single-disc Bonds that have shown up at BL are also in the WalMart $5 dump bins, if You're willing to sift through them and pay the extra $2...
