Went to the Stockton, CA store on Country Club - no cartoon sets, no Tales from the Crypt, just a bunch of War at Homes and not much else of worth. Didn't make it to the West Ln store on time, forgot they closed at 7 and pulled up about a quarter after.

In DFW I've been able to pick up Space Ghost, Pebbles & Bamm Bamm, Scooby Doo S3, Wacky Races, Top Cat, Josie & the Pussy Cats, and Huckleberry Hound. They just don't last long.

Do not trust the dates in the sales flyer. I stopped at a number of Big Lots Sunday morning that had the sale ad...and only one had even a halfway decent assortment of titles. All the other stores had been picked over...and certainly not that morning.

The lesson to be learned, it's completely luck of the draw with BL. They can put inventory out any time morning, noon or evening; up to individual stores, and the impression I've gotten - they basically put the stuff out when they have the manpower to put it out.

Woodbridge, VA put some of their $3 sets yesterday around 1:00 PM:

Flintstones S1, S2 (both sealed), Jonny Quest (1 copy), Tales From The Crypt S2-S5 (a few each w/2 copies of S1 and no 6 or 7's), Murphy Brown S1 (2 copies), Popeye v1 (at least 15 copies), Top Cat. The rest were the Hot wheels sets, etc... No $10 sets.

More was to be put out later. I went back around 5:30 PM and there was nothing new yet. I asked what was in the back and a very nice employee grabbed one copy each of the different dvd sets and brought them out to show me what was there. Nothing I needed but here's what I saw...

Dasterdly & Muttley Complete, Josie & The Pussycats Complete, Flintstones S3, WB Acadamy Awards Collection, Batman Legend Begins/Tales of the Dark Knight, plus a few others of no interest. Not sure if they're on the floor yet.

Also hit Gaithersburg, MD and found nothing huge but did get Drew Carey S1.

Hit District Heights, MD and same thing but found Reel Talent First Films by Legendary Directors (Lucas, Zemeckis).

Nope. When I found my TFTC they only had 1 copy of each (2 through 6) left. I'm still on the hunt for Season 1 (and fingers crossed season 7 starts showing up). Most everything (with the exception of Flintstones & Popeye) they only had one copy left of what I picked up.

If you want to go to Big Lots and kill each other over DVD's so you can sell them on eBay that works for me. Perhaps the next time I go to Big Lots I will be sure to arrive early with a chair so I can enjoy the show. In the mean time, I have more important things to do.

I know the big talk here is all about the big WB sets. But anyone else take notice to all the Nickelodeon stuff they got in? Looks like they are all $4.00. Though when I went none of them had price stickers on them so I got mine for only $3.00 each.

Where are you getting that 7/29 date from. My ad clearly states the sale starts on 7/26.

There is something happening on Big Lots website on 7/29, but I have no idea what it is. Got that info from the newsletter.

My ad says the sale starts 7/29. I believe the sale start dates are regional. I'm in Virginia and I think all of the stores in the DC/MD/VA area start mid-week.

I picked up Tracy Takes On at the Derry, NH store, they pretty much had nothing.

Managed to find Dasterdly and Muttley at the Nashua, NH store, they didn't have much, a TON of copies of Flintstones Season 2 and the first popeye volume. The Dasterdly disc I got was the only copy.
