I just hit the Colonie, NY one and they had plenty of season sets in stock.
The Adventures of Louis and Clark 1-4, Flintstones, Wonderwoman, Roots, Dukes Of Hazard, Dallas, Tales From The Cryps, Joey, Friends, ER and so on. Horrible how they stack them on their shelves. I picked up the only complete Wonderwoman box set.

Happy hunting.

Perhaps our banter could be nominated for exchange of the year and we could split the massive monetary prize that goes along with it if we win. I hear you get a bunch of five cent box sets..... ;)

Sirrah, if we are killing you I'd imagine that you're in a trailer and cooking parking lot burritos amongst your hoarded stash of Looney Tunes box sets. To the hunt! We shall find you... if the tornado doesn't get you first!

Does it really show up on the receipt as the Ullman set? Everytime I've checked out it's been a general listing and if I return something they usually just take off the first entry as they're all the same.

Oh, I forgot, Colonie, NY also had 4 or 5 sets of Smallville Season 7 (I think) on Blu-ray.

anyone have any updates on NJ stores?

Another trip to the Milford,MA store today once again proved fruitless. Still no Hanna Barbera sets to speak of. They did have an MGM display out today with titles like Pauly Shore is Dead and Throw Mama From the Train.

I really wanted to find all 6 Flintstones seasons but I'm not going to kill myself to do so.

I'll take that Tracy S2 set....I can't find one!

I may have surrendered to the dark side and bought all the the coveted Looney Toons boxed sets rather than letting the reseller get them all but at least I am offering them to my fellow DVDTalkers for trade rather than selling them on eBay or trying to trade them in at FYE.

Beware the power of the dark side.

Sooo, hey there... is there anything in particular you're looking to trade for?

It's worth a try, right?

I've never seen any $10 sets or blu-rays at Sterling.

I'm pretty close to it and try to hit it twice a week, we should coordinate so we don't waste trips.

Hey man - Sounds good. I work over in Herndon so it's sorta a pain in the ass to go over there though it's close. I end up wasting $1 on the toll rd. each trip. I asked them to check in the back but the guy said he hadn't seen anything - for whatever that's worth. Yeah, I haven't seen any $10 sets or blu-rays at Sterling either.

Re: Big Lots Part 5

Mine (Midwest City, OK) finally got some of the newer sets, but just the most common ones.
I got
Popeye vol 1 (I'm going to try to sell the tin I overpaid for) they had about 12 of these
Jacques Cousteau River Explorations (about 8)
Tales from the Crypt 5 (got the only one, no other seasons)

I left
Lois & Clark Season 2 or 3 don't remember which (they had lots of these)
Flintstones Season 3 (about 5 of these)
Dastardly & Muttly and a few other cartoons (2-3 copies of each), but none of the highly-desirable ones.
Not much else worth mentioning. They were moving pretty fast. I'd probably buy "Roots" and any "Tales from the Crypt" they put out, but I won't be heartbroken if they never show up. I wish they would get some of the 2 disc SEs that seem to be popping up everywhere else. Despite the volume of customers, it's really a small store, so I don't think they get quite as much merchandise as the bigger stores. There's a big store at 63rd & May in OKC, but they rarely get any DVDs, just a few Spanish titles. I have never been to the one on the SW side of OKC.

Sent you a PM.

To the poster who asked me about the receipt and did it show up under something else, the clerk told me that only the other DVD set I bought and returned was on the receipt. She ran the bar codes of both DVD sets and said they had neglected to charge me for the Tracey Ullman one. -screwy-

The Lemay Ferry store apparently restocked this morning. I just took a trip over there on my lunch break and was able to pick up the following:

Flintstones S2,3,4,5,6
Wacky Races
Pebbles & Bamm Bamm
Popeye
Batman TAS Vol. 4
Adventures of Superman S3&4

Woohoo!

I got the last Flintstones S5, but there were additional copies of all the rest, as well as Everwood S1, which I had no interest in. No Crypt, no Looney Tunes. The store manager said that they didn't receive any $10 sets.

Now to find Flintstones S1 and all the other HB stuff... -smile-

Thanks for the heads up. I just got back from there and luckily got the last Batman TAS 4 and I found a few Flintstones, including a S5 in the pet section of all places, definitely looked like someone thought about stealing the discs, but they were all there.

I was there around 2pm today and picked up Popeye Vol 1 (8 more left) and Flintstones S 2 (I got the last one). Saw about 6 copies of Tracy Ullman S 1. I had not seen any of those the last time I was there (last Wed). I hope we don't have a reseller/hoarder in our midst.

Re: Big Lots Part 5

So just hit up another store south of St Louis, MO and found all kinds of various HB stuff, Supernatural S3, Batman TAS V3, and some Superman stuff. Most of it I picked up to trade for things I can't find. So check out the exchange thread and I'll post my list.

On a side note I was thinking about not picking most of it up and just informing people about the stuff I saw and I would pick it up to trade that way. However shopping at Big Lots virtually everyday for nearly a month I started to see a lot of the same people. One of whom was a guy that I know resells a lot, which I learned after a heated arguement over a damn season of ER. Needless say I saw him grab a cart and head towards the DVDs and I grabbed anything they had only 1 or 2 copies of. I would much rather trade or offer them to people on here than to let him get them. Needless to say I felt vindicated when he walked over and I had a stack of about 25 DVD sets and he just looked pissed.

Michigan...Today's Lunch Run...

Sterling Heights (Schoenherr & 14)... Called.... Told "We don't have the $10 sets but we have TONS of the $3 ones"... I asked for clarification... the $3 SETS, not the $3 Movies... Answered... "WE HAVE TONS"... well, they had a few... Nothing major... Flintstones and some others.....

Eastpointe (10 between Gratiot & Grosbeck)..... Called... Told "We got some in"... Asked are they out?.... "yes"... Did you get $10 sets?.... "Don't have time to check but if you want check another Big Lots....gotta run...people in line..."... Well.... had some of the $3 sets.. Popeye....Flintstones...etc... well no $10 sets... Asked a worker who very firmly told me.... "Those are for our Sunday Ad....come back Sunday".... Do you know which $10 sets you have... maybe Looney Tunes....."Those are for our Sunday Ad... come back Sunday"... Can you at least tell me if you have any Looney Tunes?..... "come back Sunday".... well... those of you in this area might try on Sunday as I won't be in that area......

I have yet to see a single HB title in Houston and I've been to at least 8 stores in the greater Houston area.

Thats the way it is where I live. Some stores won't tell you anything and only trickle new stuff out but others will tell you anything and put new stuff out all the time.

I suppose it all depends on who manages the store and who you talk to.

Anybody finding these titles and bargains at any of the Illinois Big Lots? Just needing to know where to find the most DVDs so I don't have to travel all throughout the tri-state area. Appreciate it and thanks for this thread!

^ Someone mentioned a day or two ago finding a bunch in Peoria, Illinois....and that included the Looney Tunes set.

Re: Big Lots Part 5

This thread is driving me nuts because i want some of these $3 sets badly! I don't know what to do now because i called my closest big lots yesterday which is 30 mins away and asked if there was a restock with the boxsets and she was nice enough to put me on hold and check them out. She came back on and named a few but were mostly the $6sets and she said there were only a handful of them there and nothing too new yet. So i called them just now and i asked another person and she wasn't sure but said the dvd section looked pretty full. So i don't know whether i should take the drive out there tonight and hope to find some of these sets or wait till the weekend.
