Picked that up last week but never got around to mentioning it. I did a Dvdpricesearch and found the only hit that came up was Amazon and it was 23.99.

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

Time to resurrect this thread. Ollies hasn't had much new stock worth mentioning, but I noticed a few boxed sets on a recent visit:

Super Friends: Volume 2: $4.99
Kenny Rogers: The Gambler 30th Anniversary Collectors Edition (in tin): $6.99
Sex and the City The Movie: The Wedding Collection: $14.99

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

I visited Ollie's in Pottstown, Pa. and was pleasantly surprised with the large selection of DVD's back in the book section. Most of the DVD's were in the $3 to $5 price range. They had a small display in the front near the cash registers and a large display back near the book section.

I purchased for $.99:

Lassie
Romancing The Bride-Laura Prepon

P.S. Romancing The Bride had two different prices on it. About 10 copies were $2.99 and 10 copies were $.99

I found about 12 different TV DVD sets in Weiss Food Market in the Pottstown store on Shoemaker road near the Wal Mart for $12.95 each including "Charmed -S1 and S2". They are next to the customer service dept. However, Target has 'Charmed-S1 for $9.95.

I also found Charlies Angels S1 & S2 in the Giant food Stores for $9.95 each.

I also find sales on used TV DVD's and used movie DVD's at the FYE in the Coventry Mall.

Happy Shopping!

Yep. I visit most of those stores weekly (among many others in the area). I've found great deals there as well.

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

Has any one been at Ollie's recently? Are the DVD's still overpriced at $4.95 with a sprinkling of some titles at $3.95, $2.95 and the occasional $.99 for Lassie? Or did they hopefully bring down their prices a bit to compete with Big Lots, Dollar Tree, and Walmart?

Are there any unique boxed sets of anything?

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

At the Ollie's in Newark, Ohio today, I picked up the 50th Anniversary edition of The Phil Silvers Show. This CBS-Paramount release has 18 episodes of the Sgt. Bilko series along with lots of great extras. It was $9.99.

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

Lancaster definitely had the best selection of what I've seen so far, but here are a few more items from the two York, PA stores:

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero: Season 1.1
Gene Simmons Family Jewels - Complete Season Two
Martin Scorsese Collection (After Hours/Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore/Goodfellas/Mean Streets/Who's That Knocking At My Door?)

Sorry, I wasn't organized enough to record the prices.

I also noticed several seasons of The O.C. at a regional discount grocery chain. I mention this because they also had copies of the Harry Potter and Wanted sets listed above...so it seems possible that O.C. sets may have surfaced at certain Ollies stores.

Could you name the regional discount grocery chain that carried the O.C. sets?

I already purchased seasons 1, 2, and 3 for $10 each at Best Buy eight months ago.

Sure, it was the Amelias Grocery Outlet, in the Gabriel Brothers Plaza in York. They definitely had multiple O.C. seasons (for $9.99 I believe), but I didn't note which ones. If you're in the Pottstown area, I see there's an Amelias in Royersford. I'll be checking the Lancaster area stores over the next couple weeks and will start a new thread if the selection is worthwhile. Amelias has been selling DVD's for months, but until now nearly everything has been new Canadian pressings or previously-used "new releases" from several years ago and so not very interesting.

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

Stopped by Ollie's tonight and they had several WWE dvds from $2.99 to $5.99. The titles I remember are:

Hulk Hogan's Unreleased Collection
Hall of Fame 2004 Induction
WWE Legendary Moments
Legends of Wrestling: Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter
Ladder Match Vol.1
Summerslam 2008 (FYE Tin)
Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior (Bonus Disc included)
Triple H King of Kings
Some Diva DVD (I think maybe South of the Border)

There may be some other titles that I am forgetting.

Re: Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

Stopped in Ollie's tonight and they had the 2005 WWE Rewind PPV box set for $30. It contains every ppv on dvd for that year in a nice box. Seemed like a good deal to me. I hope it helps someone out. I think they are starting to hit ebay so the scalpers might be onto them also.
