excellent investment IMHO
when all the worlds banks collapse, and currency of any sort isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
i feel steven seagal movies will be something people worldwide use in place of money in the purchasing and selling of goods.
and ladies and gentlemen, that there is the new benjamin

Went back to pick up the last remaining John Wayne set. They're all excellent WWII films:
They Were Expendable (with Robert Montgomery, dir: John Ford)
Operation Pacific (with Patricia Neal, Ward Bond)
Flying Leathernecks (with Robert Ryan)
Back To Bataan (with Anthony Quinn)
Helluva deal for the Duke...$2.25 a picture.

Completely agree. "They Were Expendable" alone is worth the price of the entire set, but they are all excellent films.

Picked up 2 of these today at one of my local Targets
Extreme Action: Eraser, Last Boyscout, Passenger 57 and Point of No Return
Already own Eraser, but didn't have the other 3 movies, which are guilty pleasures of mine.
Sylvester Stallone Collection: Tango & Cash, Demolition Man, The Specialist and Over the Top
Alreasdy own Tango & Cash and The Specialist, but as Foolscreens from 2 previous Action double feature purchses. Glad to get them in Widescreen at least.

Not a big deal. I really don't care about it being non-anamorphic. I don't have a widescreen HDTV that would even make it noticeable for me.

Don't joke about that, that might actually be an interesting release.
I might get the Matrix one as I don't have the box set and, to be fair, am a bit wary on putting down that much cash for a good film and two bad sequels.

Nah, Criterion's holding off on that and is bound to release their special two-disc edition of Brain Donors first. And the world will be better for it.
Meanwhile, these 4 Film Favorites are truly excellent. I got the Stallone and Matrix ones today for cheesy post-hangover viewing and I'm not disappointed.

Re: Target $8.99 "4 Film Favorites" Series
Warner seems to be pretty good at releasing all of the films in a single 4 film favorites set in the same ratio, so if you're thinking of grabbing a 4FF with a title that has as of yet been FS only (i.e. Spies Like Us/Man Who Knew Too Little/Vegas Vacation/some other one I don't remember), then know that even the ones that have been available in WS (Man Who Knew Too Little) will be FS so that the entire set is FS. Also, almost all of the "family" film ones are FS.
Since they're two double-sided DVDs, the disc "images" are identical to any previously released DVDs: menus, features, etc.
