Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I know I mentioned finding The Bronx is Burning in the $5 bin several weeks back. Then, I only saw a single copy in one particular store. A few days ago, I noticed multiple copies in a different store. If this was a title you were interested in, it may be worth checking back.

Has anyone else confirmed this? I saw it two weeks ago on one of those....hangy dealies..that they sometimes put at the end of the rows beside the endcap. But iirc it was marked at 29. I'd love to pick it up for 5, I'd probably even go 7.50 for it.

Just found "Terminator Salvation: The Mechinima Series" in my Walmart dump bin for $5.00. This DVD only came out 3 weeks ago.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Found a few new titles @ Walmart tonight on the $5 shelf:

The Outsiders
Hairspray (1988)
How To Eat Fried Worms

I'm sure there were others, but rude people parked their cart in front of one side and had a family reunion on another. Whatever.....I'll check back again. I did grab The Outsiders and Hairspray.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

For anyone in the Cartoon Christmas mood I just picked up "Bah, Humduck!: A Looney Tunes Christmas (2006) / A Flintstones Christmas Carol (1994)" Double Feature pack at Walmart for $9.00. This set includes both of the movies in their own cases shrink wrapped together. Not bad at $4.50 a piece!

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

My local Wal-Mart had the Babylon 5 sets for $15 each season, but went this morning and they pulled all of them.

They now have the following.
Supernatural: 1-3 $15 each
Smallville $15 each season. I can't recall whcih seasons but they had about 5 or 6 seasons.
The O.C. ?
Tudors ?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

this thread is long, so this may have been posted already.

I was surprised to see some Bluray movies in the $5 bin. I saw at least one (Training Day) and maybe another one. Too many copies of Training Day for this to be misplaced.

Now $5 BR discs I can get excited about!!

(just not that one)

There have been about 40 of them at Target the last couple weeks, maybe a couple of those would have been/are worthy.

One of my local Wal-Marts did the same thing. They dumped all the black friday promo dvds/blu-rays in the $5 bin even though they don't ring up at $5. Not sure if they would honor the price. I didn't try since there was nothing I wanted.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

My Wal-mart had a section of $12 3-packs, the ones I can remember: Godfather, Matrix, Austin Powers, The Grudge, X-Men, Mission Impossible. A few are box sets but most of them are individual releases shrink-wrapped together.

I know absolutely nothing of Sliding Doors (except that it stars Gwyneth Paltrow, so chances are that it sucks), but I'd pay $4 for the other movie alone.
I love Sliding Doors. Easily one of my favorite romantic comedies. Intriguing premise with a great, surprisingly lovable performance by Paltrow.

I saw this today as well, and sadly it is not the "Coppola Restoration" box set. My Wal-Mart had that separate across the way for $29.96. The $12 one was the original release of the box set, which I have seen on sale at places like FYE for a while, but never at that price.

Sunset Boulevard (Centennial Collection)
Odd Couple (Centennial Collection) been looking for this one for awhile
Ringu Anthology will probably trade
Vanilla Sky/The Firm Double Feature
