Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I already have these two sets, but today I noticed both of the Challenge of the Super Friends sets on an endcap at Wal-mart for $10 (each). Here's the Amazon link to the sets I'm referring to in case anyone is interested.

These sets were also at Big Lots for $6... Maybe the $6 Big Lot sets will start showing up at Wal-Mart as $10 sets.... hmmmmm?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Was out and about and stopped by another Walmart today, which had the $3 bin still up and relatively full. Scored the last Flags of our Fathers hidden in the back. It was a floater, but figured for $3 why not. When I got it open, the 2nd disc was perfect, the fact that it was a floater probably kept it around for me to be able to find. No Babel's (not that I'm interested but it seems to be a hot one), but lots of the full screen stuff.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Went today to a store that had the $4 DVDs and not the $3 dVDs to pick up something I passed when I was there... and alas... they had the $3 DVDs that I originally went to find when I found the $4 DVDs but this time there were no $4 DVDs... One worker told me they dumped them into the $5 bin... but there were no $4 ones... and another worker told me that the $4 DVDs that did not sell were sent back.... aarghhh.... I already have the $3 ones I wanted... :S

Babel is the second best movie ever made, IMO.

not only does my Walmart not have a section of these $3 or $4, but they don't even have the big buckets of $5.00 DVDs.

Look for a 4 sided display made up of bookcases put on a flat of sorts (to get it elevated a bit for the lower shelves). They went to those around here about a year ago. They put Whoppers, microwave popcorn, and other movie type snacks on the upper shelves. Much easier to look through as they don't get messed up as easily...

It is in a package (about the size of a regular DVD width with all 6 discs inside) with this cover...

with a run time of 965min....

Tru Calling is in 3 slim packs with 2 discs in each pack.

Was Dark Angel shown in Widescreen or 16x9 on TV.. cause this set is listed as Full Screen... I hope it isn't cropped...

The Clackamas, OR (82nd Ave) WM had no $3 movies, and the person I asked claimed never to have heard of the promotion.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

The Albany, NY location had plenty of copies of the $3 DVDs. Located near the checkout, upstairs.

Picked up four:
- Summer School - Special Edition
- Breakdown
- Nick Picks 5
- Year of the Dog, The

Had lots more but the ones I was looking for were Summer School & Breakdown.

This caught my eye. Don't think I've ever been, nor seen, upstairs at a Wal-mart.

Where I used to live, they built a two story Super Walmart in the local mall.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

So, I've read that "Breakdown" is non-anamorphic. Can anyone confirm?

Unfortunately, yes it is non-anamorphic.

I picked up the following for $3 each today:

The Big Bounce
Cool Hand Luke (Old snapper version)
Hairspray (Wal-Mart exclusive edition with Bonus DVD)
Ocean's Twelve
The Wedding Singer
We're No Angels

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I went back this morning and to my surprise there was one copy of Flags of our Fathers 2-disc edition left.

I don't know if they were holding back and put new titles in the display or what, but I do know that there were no copies of that anywhere in the display before.

The bad thing is the slipcover was in pretty bad shape, plus they put a new UPC# sticker right over the old one which of course ruined the slip-cover.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

They have definitely re-stocked at my local Walmart as well.

Has anyone found the "Totally Awesome" edition of "The Wedding Singer" or just the older version?
