This thread motivated me to go to Wally Mart (Lakewood, WA) for the 1st time in at least 5 years. Unfortunately, no 2 disc Sunset Blvd's.......... The $4 display was about 60% full. I had Dream Girls WS 2 Disc & Some Kind of Wonderful WS DVD & CD in my hands, but decided not to buy. They also had quite a few $5 dvd's, & an interesting selection of $5 cd's, although the best cd titles were mixed in with the regular cd's.

Today I finally had some luck at a Walmart in Federal Way, WA. I found Ringu: Anthology of Terror and Roman Holiday (Centennial Edition).

My hometown WM has never had any of the current $3-4 dvds up but then they recently remodeled and seem to have very few middle of the aisle displays now of any kind.

Eh, no big deal.

I talked with my brother last night and he agreed to swing by the Nicholasville Rd. store this morning. Whatever Ringu sets you saw yesterday were already gone - and still no Centennials. He did find me a copy of 'Marathon Man', so I guess it wasn't a total waste.

Now if only the employees would have stocked a full variety of titles when the display went up instead of cramming it half full with 'Charlie's Anglels: Full Throttle' I might have had better luck on Friday. :grumble:

The Legend of Chun-Li? Wow, that was fast.

Could be a mistake, I seen 3 copies of The Great Buck Howard in mine but it still rang up as $19.99.

Has anyone actually found the Patrick Swayze film "Steel Dawn" in the $5 bin?

I have checked 5 different wal-marts and not a single one to be found

Dang! I wish someone had made a separate thread about the $3 DVDs. I rarely check this thread anymore & missed this by a few days. Sunset Blvd & Into The Wild both scanned at $4, but Casshern is still ringing up for $3 today.

Finally scored at a North Atlanta store (Winder), where they had almost everything mentioned. Grabbed The Odd Couple and, thankfully, the Ringu set, but no luck on Roman Holiday. Two out of three ain't half bad. :)

after hitting 4 different walmarts, finally found a copy of the odd couple, very nice release! never thought this film would get the special edition treatment that it has. now, if they would only release the grumpy old men double feature in widescreen!!

also picked up gorehouse greats, which is nicely packaged for a 12 film budget release, not overly compressed like you would think, it is 3 flippers with 2 films on each side, nice companion to the 3 bci drive in cult classics sets. these grindhouse type films make for a great mst3k type party, sometimes bad cimema can be a good thing, lol

Yes I saw only one in the bin among other Swayze films. I went back to get it and sadly it was no longer there.

This is sad - nothing good to be found at my local lame-ass walmart.

They did have seasons 1-5 of The Simpsons for $14.99, which I'm thinking of getting, however...

That's interesting you say that because I also found copies of The Great Buck Howard in a few $5 bins around me. Never picked it up though.

I was able to find Roman Holiday, Sunset Boulevard, and Marathon Man. Now all I want to find is Reds and any other Centennial Edition.

Oh and I also found the Halloween 4 & 5 double pack, but it was on the regular shelves. It was NOT in the bin or on the $4 display.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I found Almost Heroes (Matthew Perry and Chris Farley) in the $5 dump bin. I also finally found Blacula/Scream, Blacula and picked up Blackenstein (I know it's probably beyond terrible, but I am a sucker for the blaxploitation genre).

Finally found A. Flux, Reds, American Gigilo, Beowolf (with PC game), Roman Holiday and Sunset Blvd today at Sacramento's El Camino location. All other Walmarts (Roseville, West Sac, Rocklin and Florin) had nil.

did very nice tonight. picked up the halloween 4&5 divimax double feature, a pam grier double feature-coffy and friday foster (both widescreen), the complete tv series daybreak (never seen it, blind buy), and, a guilty pleasure of mine - club paradise with robin williams (widescreen) (very funny film directed by harold ramis, robin williams plays a retired detroit fireman who goes down to jamaica and opens a resort, reggae legend jimmy cliff co-stars as his new business partner as well a providing a great reggae soundtrack). all were $5 each. saw a copy of chinatown that i was tempted to pick up for $4 but I am trying to hold out for a centenial special edition if I can find one.

The last time I was at Wal-Mart (~2 weeks ago), I found the following for $5 each:
Hannibal Lector Two-Pack - The Silence of the Lambs / Hannibal
Amityville Horror, The (1979) / Amityville Horror, The (2005) [original+remake double feature]
Mallrats - Collector's Edition
Club Paradise

I still haven't found Happy Birthday to Me for $5 :(

I found the new display finally. I got the Ring collection, Disturbia, and Beverly Hills Cop. Everything was 4.00 each. I wanted Casshern and Sunset Blvd also but didn't see any. There were tons of Norbit, Jackass, and Blades of Glory.
