K-Mart Horror Display

I think all horror fans should check out K-Mart if they can. They have a section of horror Dvd's for $4.99 each. They're in a cardboard display that says "Thrillers and Chillers" or something like that. These are the ones I got:

Hellraiser
Hellbound: Hellraiser 2
Children of the Corn
Re-Animator
The Hills Have Eyes (Original)
Creepshow 2
Halloween (Original)
Dawn of the Dead (Original) Special Edition - Divimax Series

--All are just the standard Anchor Bay discs, no 2-discs or SE's unless noted--

A lot of horror collectors will already have these, but still a good deal for some of these classics. They also had "Wrestlemaniac", "Day of the Dead (original), It Waits, and a lot of Masters of Horror.

Check my sig for a picture of my pickups.

Nope, sorry for not verifying. I put a picture of them in my signature so you can see which ones they are.

Re: K-Mart Horror Display

Kmart displays are pretty horrific. Good luck ever finding anything in that store whether its nationally advertised or some YMMV deal. Hurry up and go bankrupt Kmart.

Re: K-Mart Horror Display

Yeah, who knows how many K-Marts actually have this display. I'm in the midwest and never seen a good display like this one until now.

Never claimed they were rare or great, they're just good prices compared to other places.

On January 22, 2002, Kmart filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection... emerged on May 6, 2003, forced out the old CEO and president, and on November 17, 2004, Kmart announced its intention to purchase Sears, Roebuck and Company with the deal closing on March 24, 2005 with the combined company name becoming Sears Holdings Corporation.

If they only ran the K-Mart stores like Sears then K-Mart *might* be OK... or at least have stuff in stock when it's advertised.

I would *love* to find that display here but they've really cut down the DVD displays! It's down over 50% since Christmas with none of the YMMV deals showing up.

Re: K-Mart Horror Display

Does anybody know if the standard edition of Hellraiser has any scenes missing? Pet Sounds, did you happen to see Imprint as part of the Masters of Horror collection?

Don't know about the Hellraiser question, haven't watched it yet.

I didn't see Imprint, that is the one MoH I was looking for, but it might just have been sold out.

Like people have said, Kmart is somewhat like Big Lots, each store carries pretty much their own stuff and it's not always nationwide, but some people have confirmed this display on another forum I go to.

Some thought it might be leftovers from Halloween time, but I know for sure this display hasn't been out there within the last 5 months.

Re: K-Mart Horror Display

I love that segment of creepshow 2 where the woman hits the guy with her car and kills him and he keeps coming back saying "thanks for the ride, lady"

Re: K-Mart Horror Display

Sounds like most of those are Anchor Bay titles. Maybe they are doing a clearance of their old stock.

Isn't EVERY display at KMart a Horror Display?
