Blockbuster "3 for $20" back as of April 14 '09

All used DVDs $14.99 or less are now 3 for $20, and they also (as always) have a selection of 4 for $20 for DVDs marked $9.99 or less.

In the "3 for $20" I picked up:

WALL-E
IRON MAN
THE DARK KNIGHT

Will probably pick up a few more this week ...

Yes it is. I saw one copy, so you may want to get there soon. They didn't get as many copies of The Wackness (for rent) as other films so there's probably not many for sale per store.

Any sort of sales on BDs? I imagine they don't stock enough of these yet to run these sort of sales.

I just got back. My BB still had all of five copies of The Wackness on the shelf for rent, which sucks. I did pick up these though:

Burn After Reading
Choke
Pineapple Express
RocknRolla
Zombie Strippers
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (for my sister)
an orange Fanta

Not bad for $43.99 total.

Check back later in the week, maybe they just haven't pulled The Wackness yet (or maybe just ask at the register). You could always trade one of the ones you just bought for TW if it does show up for sale.

I don't know if you saw my thread from a few weeks back about the $3.99 sale, but Zombie Strippers was one of the titles included. Look at your receipt and check the price. If it's $3.99 go back and trade that for a $15 dvd and just pay the extra $4 for Zombie Strippers.

I guess it's all YMMV...depending on what gets rented at a specific store. This means no one around here likes zombies or strippers...time to move.

Crap, I wish they would have waited a couple of weeks. I hope this goes long enough to be able to get The Wrestler.

Don't forget their 30 day return policy. If there are 2 other films you want, you could always get a third as a placeholder for The Wrestler. Once TW goes on sale just do an exchange.

I was wanting to buy Role Models, but it wasn't on sale yet. So I grabbed JCVD instead and I asked the sales clerk if it would be a problem if I did an exchange if Role Models goes on sale next week. She said "No problem. You have 30 days." But I watched JCVD last night and really liked it, so I won't be exchanging it...I guess I'll just have to find 2 others to buy with it (lol).

I really doubt you'll get The Wrestler in this sale....
My BB usually takes almost two months before they hit $14.99....
Unless it's something they over-stock like crazy....

Re: Blockbuster "3 for $20" back as of April 14 '09

I forgot to add the tv series. I mentioned them back in my $3.99 thread, but they probably deserve another mention here since they qualify for the 3 for $20. This is a big YMMV due to availability.

All $14.99 per season or 3 for $20:

Carnivale S.1&2
Freaks & Geeks Complete Series
Undeclared Complete Series
4400 S.1&2
Reno 911 (I saw Seasons 1&3)
The Unit S.1&2
Medium (can't remember what seasons)
Monk S.1&2 (maybe 3 also)

...so don't forget to check the shelves and just look for ones that have been shrinkwrapped...I've found they usually stick them behind the individual titles.

I checked out 4 or 5 BBs for Freaks & Geeks Complete Series/Undeclared Complete Series.
No luck at all....

Re: Blockbuster "3 for $20" back as of April 14 '09

Picked up 6 today, might get another 3 sometime soon.

- Burn After Reading
- The Express
- The House Bunny (for the g/f)
- Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist
- The Rocker
- W

Thinking about getting "Ghost Town," "Righteous Kill," and one other. I was really hoping "Role Models" would be available by now.
