I was expecting the Bolt Blu-Ray to be a little cheaper.

Black Freighter Steelbook!! And it looks like it has the proper smiley face on the corner.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices: March 22 - 28

the only "deal" i see is the ps3 with 2 "free" BDs ...

its like getting the PS3 for 340.01 and buying 2 movies and reg. price....

considering the price drop is coming and i dont see any of those movies droping in price anytime soon (maybe 21) id say this is probably the best deal since the Buy a Ps3 get a $50 GC & guitar hero FREE

Might go in for the Black Freighter steelbook. Still have a $5 coupon I haven't used yet.

Thanks for the prices.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices: March 22 - 28

Ah, finally! Thanks for the info. I can cancel my Amazon Bond order now...Best Buy is a few bucks more expensive, but I've got lots of GCs to burn as well as a RZ coupon, so I'm going to get them there and have them immediately.

I just want to make sure I'm reading it correctly...If I buy QoS and the newest three blu-rays, I should get $10 off for each pair right? The OP mentions buying any two of the three to get $10 off, but QoS is a "single disc movie" so it should (hopefully) qualify too.

That was a fantastic deal, so glad I lept on it. And not to digress too much, but I don't see the sense in them price dropping right now. They're losing $50 per console, why voluntarily lose more money in this economy? These deals with free games/movies/gift cards is their best option right now, though it'd be better if they had more free stuff a la the GC & GH deal two weeks ago. If they had Killzone 2 and a gc or controller or something they could move more units imo.

Thanks for price and the ad scan. I want to pick up QoS on BD and the Black Freighter SteelBook but my wallet says otherwise lol

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a cute little toy or something extra with Bolt this week.

well the free stuff isnt giving Sony profit its giving BB profit and its a bit of an insurance policy ... you see they give you that stuff free so that if a price drop happens you dont get to price adjust becuase they gave you "free" stuff along with the console.

im curious what did you do with the $50 gc ??

Yes but with the free stuff they still move more units off the shelf compared to moving more units at a lower price and therefore losing more money. At this point in the PS3's career, it's not about profit, it's about minimizing your losses.

And I picked up COD4 on sale last week for $40, then combined that with the $10 assassin's creed coupon and $10 RZ coupon to get both games free

So $70 total for both games - $50 gc - $10 gamer zone coupon - $10 rz coupon = $0.

Glad I didn't put an order on TFAF Trilogy at Amazon... I'll just wait to pick it up at BB...

For those who are buying the Black Freighter.... Are you buying the Blu-ray and the Steelbook? Or just the steelbook because the Blu-ray doesn't interest you???

If I get it, the SteelBook. I'm not sure I want it in the first place, as it was rather uninteresting in the graphic novel and I think it will be the same on dvd. Blu-ray won't make much difference either imo.

Yeah, I don't think the black freighter will be visually stunning and warrant a Blu-ray purchase lol. And I doubt I pick it up Tuesday, but if by some rare chance I do I will let you know.

Re: Best Buy Media Prices: March 22 - 28

I'll probably just get the BF Steelbook. I have the Watchmen Motion Comic on Blu-ray, and while it looks nice, I don't think it's necessary for have the BF on BD.

I'm a bit disappointed, seeing as there was a plush of Spudnick for Space Buddies, when Bolt was a far superior film (featuring a canine).
