Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

Link

Offer valid until 3/27/09 at Noon CST

Note: Price and titles are not being reflected correctly. I could see at least 1 title "Miss Julie" as per the expected discount. Maybe DD is working on it right now....

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

I'd be in for several top-tier titles at $16.99 per (+ 4% Cashback) if DD would get their act together.

I'm disappointed this sale is ending four days before Danton is released.

They're HVE (as are a number of other titles in this sale) which is a part of the same company. The Cars That Ate Paris is a great release that I'd highly recommend.

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

I'm actually looking to buy a few older Criterion titles, "Hiroshima, Mon Amour" and "Bicycle Thieves" - but they apparently didn't make the cut with this seemingly arbitrary selection.

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

I ordered "Miss Julie", which I've been meaning to pick up since it came out last year. I'd love to order "Mouchette", "Testament of Dr. Mabuse" and a few others if only they'd lower the price a bit more.

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

Only title I REALLY would like to have from that selection is Slacker and I'm planning on getting that from Secondspin for $19.99 + 20% off and free shipping...

IMO, this sale isn't that great.

It's not even a sale at all. Miss Julie is the only title that is discounted.

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

Okay I posted this before, but theres alot of these titles that DD list in Criterion Sale that ARE NOT criterion.

Just wanted the members to know before thinking of buying .It's mostly the DVD's price under $20
Heres a few going from lowest to highest price.

Not Criterion

1-Mutual Appreciation $10 (Second spin has it for under $6 used, during their sale)and you can buy it new for under $10
2-Zatoichi - The Tale of Zatoichi Continues
3-Zatoichi - Fight, Zatoichi, Fight
4-Cars That Ate Paris, The/The Plumber
5-Sada
6-Tattooed Life
7-Zatoichi the Fugitive
8-Zatoichi - Adventures of Zatoichi
9-Zatoichi's Revenge
10-Exiles
11-Jane Austen in Manhattanv $12(good price,$15 at fye.com)Merchant Ivory Collection.

I'll add a few more latter

Criterions

I agree this DD so call sale sucks...
I written DD off after their last so call sale, you really have to be carefull with what you order with them.

The shit the pull with lising movies as Criterion that are not even Criterion's.
and their damn shoppers discount club scam they pull when you are checking out.I will never buy from them again..but never say never.

Their customer service is so so.I wanted to cancel 1 of the movies I had on back order from my last order. Then ended up taking off the wrong DVD.
I just keep it when I got it.

Also their CS people did seen very nice to work with,I was also cool.

Re: Save up to 57% on Criterion titles at DD

This "sale" is pathetic. Thought it would be like some of their previous criterion sales where there were some legit deals to be had. This is a farce.

DD marketing guys are as blind as Zatoichi, but not as sharp as his blade.

After a ittle more research I found out its from the Merchant Ivory Collection.
No spline # and only says criterion on the plasticshrink wrap.

In 2003, the Criterion Collection started a boutique label: The Merchant Ivory Collection.

Must be similar with the Janus collection of shorts, like Red Balloon, White Mane and Paddle to the Sea ( have I left out any of them?).

That's all of 'em, though Red Balloon and White Mane have been announced as receiving proper Criterion treatment down the line.

True, but it makes the claim of "Criterion" as the universal element in the sale inaccurate...

Oh, right, these prices probably won't change--it says "up to 57%"...jeez.
