Picked up A Star is Born for $4.99.

Passed on the Animal House set(again) but it's marked down to $7.00 for anyone who might want it.

Picked up Do You Believe in Miracles? The Story of the 1980 U.S. Hockey Team (2001) for $1.00. Inside was a coupon for an HBO rebate. The expiration date? 2002.

Animal House has only been marked down to 15.00 for me.

With the newer edition costing less it just doesn't seem worth it. Maybe if it came with some shot glasses or something...

I like it as much as the next person but I've already got the double secret probation edition of the dvd so the oversized box and commemorative book just aren't much of a draw for me.

Casablanca Ultimate Collector's Edition 3 DVD Set Includes 3 Disc Set With Bonus Photo Book and Exclusive Dinner Party Metal Placecard Holders. for $12.99 (slash thru UPC code ..not bad though)....almost picked it up BUT I already have the 2 disc version and I want at some point to pick up the blu ray.

They also had :
Elvis - The Hollywood Collection (Charro / Girl Happy / Kissin' Cousins / Live a Little, Love a Little / Stay Away, Joe / Tickle Me) for $19.99 (slash thru UPC code)..already have this ,but a nice find if anyone needs it.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

I picked up "The Rat Pack Ultimate Collector's Edition" box set (with "Ocean's 11"; "Robin and the 7 Hoods"; "4 for Texas" and " Sergeants 3") for $12.99 @ Marshalls. Nice DVD set includes Rat Pack playing cards; 10 photo cards; 8 lobby card repros (from "Sergeants 3") and a repro of the "Ocean's 11" Pressbook.

Box has no cuts (label over the UPC)

Night Court Season Two?! For $5?! THAT is a great find, my friend! A classic show. Too bad I already have the first two seasons. Got 'em at Target earlier this year in a 2-pack for $19.99.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Now I'm a little upset. It turns out "The Hoax" looks like a previous rental. It has surface wear and it was rewrapped in cellophane. I just wish they would have labeled it as a previously viewed movie. As I thought it was new when I bought it.

The 2 disc A Christmas Story is $4.99 @ Marshalls now, but its a cut out. I think each store is getting several copies.

I can live with a UPC cut out (no plans to resell any part of my collection), as long as it's not too big where you cant read the back of the case. I will definitely look for this one at my local store tomorrow, as this movie is a annual tradition in this house and we still have the VHS copy. Thanks!

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

The Marshalls in Albany, NY didn't have A Christmas Story but did have lots of other DVDs, many that can be found at Big Lots and Walmart though. I was tempted to pick up THE SHINING 2-Disc for $4.99 but decided to put it down and walk out empty-handed. FYI if anyone in the area is interested in that one, there's only one copy. Merry Christmas!

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

I saw the TCM Classic Romance Collectionat the Albany and Latham NY stores for $9.99 but passed on it for two reasons. 1...found "Splendor in the Grass" as Big Lots for $3 a couple months ago. 2. BJ's is matching the $9.99 price point on some of the older Classic sets...not 100 percent sure if this is one of them, but still...

Saw "The World According to Garp" in Albany as well...old snap case circa 2001, but having never seen a DVD of it in any way, shape or form, I almost grabbed it. For $4.99 I still might if somebody else doesn't get there first.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

The only time I've ever been near a Ross is in Florida. Apparently they're non-existent in Upstate NY.
