Or, excess titles are returned to stores, and those are sent back at very reduced prices to various stores. Reason I say that is I had gone through one store's inventory, and the 10-15 titles in a clearance section, came back 2 weeks later and there were several new titles I hadn't seen in the store anywhere in the clearance section...

I've been stopping by Marshall's a lot more since these markdowns started. I noticed some DVDs that weren't even there the previous time with red stickers marked down to 1-3 dollars. So I'm wondering if they are receiving merchandise from other stores or corporate already marked down. Just seemed weird.

Haven't seen a title for less than $2 at Marshall's, with most being $4.99 and up.

Always look in the clearance section (usually in the rear of the store but sometimes on various moveable shelves throughout the store) to find the "under $2 deals".

You'll have to look close as the DVDs can sometimes be shoved into various display areas with other clearance items on top of them. It's kinda like a treasure hunt.

I recently picked up Laurel and Hardy's "March of the Wooden Soldiers" for $1 and the 2-disc "Bonnie and Clyde" for $1.50.

Didn't know they had a clearance section- I thought the whole store WAS a clearance section! A few months ago I found some stuff for 99 cents, in with the rest of the DVDs. It's annoying how they put them in the checkout line, so you get trampled on by dumb broads buying clothes.

Agreed

All the clearance titles I picked up were in the men's section on a clearance display (had all kinds of junk, not just DVDs). This was the case in the 6 Marshals / T.J. Maxx stores I went in. However, I did see a few shoved in with the standard titles as well.

I found Stop loss for 1.00. Very limited selection.
Be wary if it doesnt have the white seal on top at marshall's. Some of these are previously viewed and not labeled so.

Hey wait a minute! I bought it when it went half price a few years ago...(but I still haven't watched it, but it looks decent).

Found two copies of the Dukes of Hazzard reunion movies double feature for $4.99. Unfortunately they were both cut outs. Also Bruce Springsteen's Magic cd was $2.00.

Some months ago I saw the Dukes of Hazard double movie feature for $3.99 at Ross. It was a slashed UPC too. That would save you a whole buck, but inventories vary wildly and the same DVDs may never show up again at some stores.

TCM Hitchcock Thrillers 3.00
2.00
Producers Deluxe Ed.
Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter
Cassanova's Big Night
From the Hip
Black Beauty
1.00
Band Wagon
3-Iron
Bears IMAX
Weekend at Bernie's
Gold Diggers in Paris

and some other 1.00 titles that may be only worth 1.00.

3-Iron is an awesome movie I would gladly pay $10 for it any day. Also I been looking for Band Wagon for some time now. I missed it when it was on Big Lots

That was the double feature of the Jessica Simpson remake correct? I saw that one @ Ross, the one I saw at Marshalls was the original cast reunion movies... Reunion! & Hazzards in Hollywood.. First time I'd seen it discounted...

I paid $3.99 for "The Bandwagon" (with a UPC slice) last weekend in Latham NY...need to check the other stores in the area but as with everything, it's very hit and miss. Last thing I found was "The World According to Garp" for $4.99 a couple months ago in Albany.

The Latham store also had the Marx Brothers Classic Movies collection for $7.99 and a small clearance section that seemed to made up mostly of "Sylvia" (Gwyneth Paltrow bio of Sylvia Plath) for $4 and "Pluto Nash" for $3.

Yes, Jessica Simpson is in the first one. I didn't know you were talking about a different Dukes of Hazzard double feature with the original cast that was being discounted.

I found a gift card on the ground about 6 weeks ago. I just now went to Marshalls and was buying Mister Roberts in the keepcase for $4.99. Tried the gift card and it still had $4.25 on it. Got it for $1.06.

Nothing below $3 at any of the NY locations I've been to (in four boroughs), and they're all C-list titles like 'American Ninja 4'.
