$1.00 is an even better price than the $3.00 I've heard the Jewel DVD has shown up for at Sav-a-Lot.
The Pretenders (Loose In L.A.) Puddle of Mudd (Striking That Familiar Chord) Sinead O'Connor (Goodnight, Thank You...) Atomic Kitten (Right Here Right Now) Ray Charles (Live In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony) Fatboy Slim (Live on Brighton Beach - Big Beach Boutique, Vol. 2) Wyclef Jean (All Star Jam At Carnegie Hall) |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Also saw Janet Jackson live in concert
|
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
These haven't shown up here in CA yet- once they do I'm buying 'em all! That Ray Charles one was one of the first concerts produced for Laserdisc in 1981.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I picked up the Volunteer Jam, Joe Cocker, Jewel, and Johnny Cash titles the other day
|
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I picked up Modonna Unauthorized and James Dean Documentary.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I've seen a few of these Eagle Rock titles at my local grocery store (Price Chopper), but they were $3.99:
Marianne Faithfull Live In Hollywood (2005) w/CD Blind Boys Of Alabama - Go Tell It On The Mountain: Live In New York Boomtown Rats Live At Hammersmith Odeon 1978 Ray Charles Live - In Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Supershow (Buddy Guy - Eric Clapton - Roland Kirk - Stephen Stills & others from 1969) Only 1 of each found |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Checked my local Dollar Tree yesterday. The only dvd's they had were really cheesy public domain $ store dvd's either in cardboard sleeves or the ultra thin plastic sleeves. I have seen the Eagle titles at Fye for the last few months for anywhere From $3-$10 depending on that week's sale.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Finally got to a Dollar Tree tonight. Saw none of the titles listed above, but was very happy to find:
Pixies: Acoustic - Live In Newport Norman Granz Presents IMPROVISATION (2 DVD set with Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Lester Young, Oscar Peterson, Count Basie & more - plus the classic "Jammin' The Blues" short) also saw: The Chieftains: Live Over Ireland - Water From The Well Carmen McRae/Manhattan Transfer - Double Time Jazz Collection, Vol. 1 There was only 1 other title, but I can't remember what it was. |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Has anyone seen any of these titles at Dollar Trees in Washington state? before I start driving to multiple stores, I'd like to know that there's at least a chance of finding them!

Are the UPCs slashed? They were that way at FYE.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I finally got around to watching the pretenders dvd and what a great concert dvd it is, was filmed at a small theatre in los angeles, widescreen format, and the performance - amazing. more than 2 solid hours with all the big hits and lesser known fan favorites. I watched the george thorogood dvd as well, and all of the things I just said about the pretenders dvd, same for the thorogood dvd. as much as I love bo diddley's original version of "who do you love", it does not have the drive or power of thorogood's cover version. you gotta love the part of the show where george is looking down at the audience, and sees a guy in the front row wearing a ramones t-shirt and proceeds to throw him down a george thorogood shirt.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I went to all 4 stores in Tallahassee, FL yesterday and found nothing at the first three I visited. I found a few of these at my last store which is at the outparcel at the Tallahssee Mall. I picked up the following titles:
Volunteer Jam - The Charlie Daniels Band Madonna - Wild Angel Wyclef Jean - All-Star Jam At Carnegie Hall Johnny Cash - A Concert Behind Prison Walls The Diary Of Alicia Keys Deep Purple - The Royal Albert Hall Jefferson Airplane - Fly Jefferson Airplane There were a few left at that store. I'm hoping my nearest store here in Thomasville, GA will get a few more in stock. Excellent find, thanks OP! BTW I also checked at the Save-A-Lot store in Tallahssee, but their music DVDs had all already been sold. |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I think I'd buy any of these titles for a dollar. I've got to get to a DollarTree this weekend.
edit: dollar tree#1 had only the usual public domain movies. I'll try DollarTree#2 Saturday. |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Anyone know if Dollar Tree stores are still getting these in?
Went by the local one and they had about 20 copies of Madonna Wild Angel and about a million of those public domain 2 for $1 dvd's. |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I went to a 2nd Dollar Tree today. Just the same public domain crap in slim cases, priced at 50 cents. I asked about the Eagle dvd's, & the clerk said she believed they had never had them.
If anyone could pick up a jefferson Airplane for $1.00, I'd appreciate a trade! |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Well damn - Dollar Tree #2 near me yielded nothing either. They did have all their TV dvds on sale 2 for a dollar, but they are the usual public domain TV shows from the fifties.

Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
Went to 2 more Dollar Trees today & found:
Canned Heat Live At Montreux 1973 Marianne Faithfull - Dreaming My Dreams Ginger Baker In Africa Salaam Bombay Dreams |
Re: Some music dvds at Dollar Tree
I went to 2 stores today. One had nothing, the other had may a dozen different titles. I bought Jewel, which did indeed have a UPC scratch... But for a buck I can't complain...
