$5.99 HD DVD titles

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
Breakfast Club is still $9.49.
7 Items: $27.33
Shipping & Handling: $20.86
Total Before Tax: $48.19
FUCK THAT. Comes out to $6.88 per title. They were cheaper at $5.99 and free shipping. Seems like somebody wants to move almost half the cost over to shipping so they can deduct the shipping amount on their taxes ("cost of doing business" versus reporting "profits"--one of those nice little tax thingies Amazon storefronts and eBay storefronts love to do).

Lucky bastard. I got one order last night as well. This last order would have finished it--well, at least for Universal titles. I can't believe how many other titles are still expensive.

F.U Amazon..
I'm sick of this changing the price crap from day to day.
This is'nt the first time this has happened.
I know they got alot of dealers under them, but this crap sucks..
so no more 'FREE Super Saver Shipping '??
I also did order from them late last night and got free shipping.

Apparently, once somebody finds out their products are actually selling...they remove the free shipping convenience and go for it all. Can't blame somebody for making an honest buck, but I'd rather not be surprised at checkout.

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
I don't think that is what is happening. The closeoutmovies seller also is a fulfillment by Amazon member which likely means they shipped a ton of their movies to Amazon under that program. But they also can still sell as a regular third party seller on Amazon, all under the same store name, and probably still had copies of the movies themselves, as I believe they have to pay increased fees depending on how many/much space they use wherever they ship them to Amazon.
I think they just noticed that some of their titles were being sold out and listed the ones they had more of which would be listed as a typical third party seller. The only other thing they could do would be to ship more movies to Amazon, which they may be doing anyway, and wait for those to be available under the fulfillment by Amazon program they subscribe to. That might explain why they dropped the prices of some of the same titles to end up being the same amount after shipping.

Some of the titles are still $5.99 with free shipping over $25. The ones that are will have a listing under 'More buying choices' on the right hand side.

Using the OP's link, the easy way to tell which ones are $5.99 w/free shipping is to ignore the price listed under each image and click on the '2 Used & New' link. The $5.99 w/free shipping will show up in the list.

Shaun of the Dead...$12.99
Fletch...$9.99
Apollo 13...$14.94
Dr. Seuss...$7.98
Interesting prices. I wonder if these titles are the more popular-selling titles.

Picked up Dazed and Confused and Animal House for $6 shipped each from closeoutmovies. I don't care how they allocate the item price and shipping, as long as the total works for me.

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
Picked these up from closeoutmovies.
12 Monkeys - $4.98
An American Werewolf in London $3.48
Jet Li's Fearless - $2.97
Half Baked - $2.97
Children of Men - $2.97
The Jerk - $4.98
Hot Fuzz- $2.97
Smokin' Aces - $2.97
Atonement - $3.48
Subtotal of Items: $31.77
Shipping & Handling:$26.82
------
Total for this Order: $58.59
I think its a great deal. Comes out to $6.51 per movie. Amazon charges NY tax so if I got these at $5.99 w/ free shipping, it would have come out to basically the same.

Man, I was all happy to be on vacation in Vegas so I could get cheap HD-DVD's at frys and Smith's. I didnt find many that I didn't already own at decent prices (5.99 or less is my limit). So I'm glad to spot this deal, but it takes some of the excitement out of my trip...

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
I'm in Georgia and find many of these HDs in the Kroger stores for 3.99-7.99 depending on the movie. I saw seasons of Moonlighting, Elizabeth, Eastern Promises, Slither, Chuck & Larry, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Fast/Furious Tokoyo, Children of Men, Smokin Aces, Attonement, Fearless and about 15 others all listed in Amazon.

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
I can't see how some of you are getting those prices. Everything is either w/$2.98 shipping or they have titles for $5.98 w/free Prime shipping or $4.98+$2.98 shipping. Of course, the titles I'm more interested in are the ones without Prime eligibility.
