Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

CC in Dartmouth Mass. had a very unorganized dvd area that was being swarmed over like locusts on a field. Funny thing though, a lot of looking but hardly any buying even at 50% off. I was looking for the $10 and under titles that would actually end up being decent deals. Of course I had to fight my way through endless copies of Dark Knight, I Am Legend and Hancock to find what little was left of the cheaper ones. Wound up picking up....

Flip the Script.............................$5.00
Get on the Bus............................$3.50
An American Werewolf in Paris........$3.50
None But the Brave......................$5.00
Devil's Pond................................$5.50
Hanover Street...........................$5.00

And the one expensive one I've been talking myself out of every percentage increase until it finally reached 50%.Picked up the last copy I could find of.......

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets 2 disc.........$15.00

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

Went into the "City" in Killeen TX yesterday and got:

Portrait in Black/Madame X - $5 (had quite a few of these)
Omega Man blu-ray $12.50 - $5 CC rewards = $7.50
Across the Universe blu $15 - $5 CC rewards = $10

All DVD/Blus were 50% off but they all had been marked up far too high. I don't think that the Noir DF had been though. They had tons of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls DVDs and one Blu that was $34.99 (ouch!). The place was a mess and I wandered around and found blus and DVDs all over the place. The Indiana blu was over by the speakers and not in the blu section for example.

Stopped in a CC today, figured they would be wiped out but I picked up a few solid buys.

Flash Gordon - Saviour of the Universe Edition
To Live & Die in LA Special Edition
both for $5 each plus tax.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Blu-Ray for $9.99, it had the wrong sticker on it, but the kid at the register didn't even know.

I was disappointed that they, at most stores I went to, had sent back a whole lot of shit to Nikon after a 20% drop. So much for picking up some lens for 30- 40% off. Only Sony cameras and some third party accessories were left.

Anyone know if the Harmony remotes went lower than 30% off? I am looking into getting a new Harmony One remote.

May I ask which CC You found the "Flash Gordon - Saviour of the Universe Edition" in? I ask cos I see we're in the same state, and that's one DVD I'd love to grab at that price.

Went to my local CC and they didn't have anything worth buying. Closest I came to purchasing was Ocean's BD boxset for $45.00

Bruce Springsteen: Working on a Dream - $4

You just answered my question- I went today and bought the WOAD single (53 cents), and received a $2 off coupon for the CD only at CC. I wondered if the CD was ever even released to CC, but that answers it. I wonder then if I could have applied the $2 if they would have had the album today?

Re: Circuit City Liquidation Deals (post your finds here)

My CC was basically cleared out of dvds. I would estimate about 50 or so dvds left.

Was able to buy these.

The Invasion $5.00
Sunshine $8.00
Get Smart's Bruce & Lloyd: Out of Control $7.50
Meet Dave $11.00

Bad Lieutenant (dvd) - $3.50
Strangehold (ps3) - $10.00

All dvds/cds/video games were 50% off, but I didn't see anything else worth buying.

Perhaps I'll keep checking then. However, as time wears on they are getting closer to 2009 model televisions coming out, so any deals on the old sets will need to be that much better - which I doubt they will be.

I looked this past weekend and some of the sets were a good deal, but not enough for me to grab one.

I've been in about 4 different stores and the amount of inventory between them is very different (overall and department wise).

I wish I had another store near me. There is nothing left at my local worth getting. I checked the phone book and that is the only store listing near me. I can't check the website store locater any more because the site is down.

The site is still up. Use the Circuit City Job site locator to find the stores in your area.

My store had about 100 copies of "I am Legend," which were still like $11 after 50% off. I thought that was odd.

Picked up S1 of "October Road" for thirteen bucks. The store (San Bernardino, CA) is down to two isles, a combination of BluRays, DVDs and CDs. The racks were pretty bear.
