(Dead) Chronological Donald Vol. 3 back in-stock at Amazon - $24.49

Doubt this will last long, but figured there might still be folks out there who don't want to pay the obscene mark-ups the tin has been fetching of late:

(Vol. 4 occasionally pops back in-stock too, but it rarely stays there for more than a few minutes)

kenbenobi 01-02-09 04:55 PM

Thanks, I'm in for one... I was looking for something to get with Entourage S4 to get free shipping, so this works out perfect...

My Other Self 01-02-09 06:27 PM

I just saw Volume 3 at Fry's today. I didn't know it was rare.

rednowgreen 01-02-09 08:47 PM

THANK YOU, I've been look everywhere for vol 3

it's selling for around $70 - $90 on ebay

zombeaner 01-02-09 09:04 PM

Ordered, probably shouldn't have, but couldn't help it.

MBoyd 01-02-09 09:45 PM

I didn't realize #4 was hard to get. I need that one.

iacon45 01-02-09 09:54 PM

I lucked into a volume 3 at a Hastings store a few months back without even realizing how rare it was. Glad I got it too or I would have passed on 1, 2, and 4. I definitely recommend grabbing this one before it gets away.

Mountain Biker 01-02-09 10:05 PM

Why are 3 & 4 so rare?

SRGilbert 01-02-09 10:56 PM

Thanks for the heads up!

Maybe lower released numbers than the other two?

standbyme 01-02-09 11:36 PM

^Yeah, the latest wave is the lowest production numbers...

Brian T,
When you posted this did it say In Stock...or the "Ships in 7-13 days" like it does now?

I ordered one because I missed out on #3....thanks for posting this!

victant 01-03-09 07:02 AM

Thanks for the heads up on this. I hated having to pay $80 on ebay for the original Mickey Mouse color tin.... :(

Trevor 01-03-09 08:35 AM

I know that I own either vol 1, 2, or 3; but its at home and I'm at work.

Couldn't curb my impulsiveness and ordered vol 3 just now. May end up having an extra to sell here.

blaineo 01-03-09 08:42 AM

Now if I can only find Dr Syn for this price

I'm not Brian but when I ordered it yesterday, it said in stock. When I put it in my cart, it stated usually ships in 7-13 days even though I have Amazon Prime.

Brian T, Thanks for the heads up. I almost paid eBay price but decided to wait.

cultshock 01-03-09 09:53 AM

I didn't know they had only made 39,500 tins of DD Vol 4, that's a lot lower than Vol 1 and 2. I procrastinated too long and missed out buying this on Amazon and Deep Discount. Luckily I found one in a B&M store, it cost a bit more, but I'm glad I was able to find it to complete my set.

RichardW 01-03-09 10:22 AM

Crap, I didn't know 4 would be hard to find now or I would have ordered it before it was released. :(

standbyme 01-03-09 10:29 AM

^Donald #4 was still in my local BB last weekend...and it is also on their website.

Don't recall, but looking at the order now, it says the estimated ship date will be between Jan. 14 and Jan. 20. Knowing Amazon, probably earlier.

There are undoubtedly copies of these two volumes available, but presumably in limited supply, which explains why they pop up from time to time, only to disappear. If you see it at local store for a reasonable price, it might be best to grab it.

Vol. 4 also returns to Amazon (very) occasionally, but the two or three times I've seen it come back, it never stays available as long as this Vol. 3 has.

whotony 01-03-09 12:01 PM

ok so what can I add for about $1 for free shipping.

I always try to have lots of various low priced items in my "to buy later" cart or wishlist for this type of thing.

Tons of low priced DVDs and books are there, but maybe some batteries?

Cameron 01-03-09 12:14 PM

much thanks on this

MichaelMeyers 01-03-09 12:30 PM

I placed an order hoping to get a copy because up until recently didn't realize this was so rare...now to find a copy of volume 4. Its gonna really bug me if I don't have all 4 volumes.

Cameron 01-03-09 12:35 PM

volume 4 is still available at places like FYE and other mall type stores. YOu may end up paying full retail though.
