Thanks for the tips about still being able to rip them onto my computer. I'll give it a shot. What brands or types would you consider "premium" blanks? and what speeds would give me best results?

I use Taiyo Yuden, which I get in cake boxes from www-dot-supermediastore-dot-com

You can expect to pay about $35 for 100 of them. Buying in bulk will save you more.

I tend to buy 8x discs and burn them at 4x.

Archive par2 files of the disc images so that when the discs do start going bad, you can regenerate the
lost data and burn a new disc.

I bought this from amazon and watched it Monday night. This was one of the best purchases i've made in a while. The main feature was well worth the $10, but the bonus of the extra songs via Commentary the musical, and some of the applications for the evil league of evil were great.

I never caught this online originally, but it sounded great in 5.1 surround.

And most of the ELE applications were VERY good...including a few that were bust out laughing funny.

I paid about $10 for it on iTunes, and it's in 3 parts. It's definitely worth $10 for the extras. I hope it's still this price once I have other things I need to purchase from Amazon. I don't want to pay for shipping, but I'm trying to cut down on my spending.

And like others have said, if you don't know if you'll like it, watch it on Hulu first. I got all of my friends here to watch it on Hulu, and now they quote it and sing songs from it all the time.

Yeah, I noticed the price increase. It actually worked out to my favor, though, since I bought that and the Batman 1943 serial DVD for a friend. If it was still $9.99 I would have had to find something for $.02 to get free shipping.

None of the reviews seem to say anything negative about the quality of the DVD-R (except the one person who hasn't bothered to watch it yet), and a friend of mine has it and seems pleased, and he's pretty picky. Hopefully the long term quality is good.

I think this is by far the best DVD purchase I made all year. The musical commentary is genius. But with Joss that's to be expected.

Price just jumped to $14.99 today. I've still been snoozing on getting it until I picked up a few other things and with today's Band of Brothers BD deal, figured today would be the day, but now it's permanently on hold until it returns to a sane price. Way to lose sales, Amazon!

I was in the same boat!

I had it sitting in my cart at $10.49 waiting to find something else that I wanted to push the order beyond $25. Then I see the Band of Brothers Blu-ray box set on sale for $35 and I think "That's perfect!". Then I see that Dr. Horrible has jumped up to $14.99. Curse you Amazon with your diabolical pricing strategies.

Amazon raised the price to 14.99 for two or three days last week. I was going to pick Dr horrible and The Room and needed to find one more thing for free shipping, but they raised it...then lowered it again. So, hopefully they'll lower it again soon.

What's lame for me is that I have Prime and could've ordered anytime all by its lonesome, but put it off when it went up the 50 cents. C'est la whatever. It's not as if I don't have literally HUNDREDS of other unwatched DVDs to get thru. I just bought another dozen DVDs at an FYE that was closing, plus a couple of complete series TV sets from BB. I can wait for a price drop.

Yes, although for the last year or so a few buddies and I have been getting together monthly to drink and watch bad movies. When I read "Citizen Kane of bad movies" I knew it was a must have.

I find it funny that they recommend Dr. Horrible, The Room, and The Dark Knight in fullscreen together.

Yeesh! I just saw that it fell back down and this time I bought the dang thing! (Thank gawd for Prime.) Of course, now that I pulled the trigger, the price will probably go down to $8.99 or something crazy.
