These weekly threads are for price comparisons of all the big new releases, and the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.

These lists will likely be incomplete until Wednesday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.

Links to the master list and to the previous and next week's thread are below.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; we'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

All Stores - Thread for all movie cash and free ticket deals
tons of free movie deals at various retailers, see the above linked thread for full details

Best Buy -
$7.50 movie cash to The Spirit with purchase of select titles
The Wire Complete Series - soundtrack CD
Batman: The Dark Knight - steelbook and several others, see table
any season of The Office - calendar (not a BB exclusive, same calendar for sale elsewhere)

Will The Dark Knight deluxe edition DVD at Target have any extra special features? Maybe those History channel documentaries?

Target exclusive appears to be 2-disc edition in batmask packaging, not sure yet if it has more exclusive content.

Several updates made. I won't be able to make my usual runs today, so anyone else feel free to update the findings today. We're particularly curious as to the Target TDK exclusive of course.

The Target Dark Knight 2 disc does have exclusive content, a featurette, "Batman Unmasked", on a 3rd DVD.

However, the featurette may be the same as one already on the blu-ray.

Anxiously awaiting confirmation, with the hope that it is the same and I won't buy multiple copies of TDK.

Confirmed by BrandonJF that it is the same name and runtime, so this bonus disc looks skippable. I never would have said that a few months ago, but I'm running out of room, and if the exact same content is on the blu-ray, I don't need the bonus disc. Right? Stay strong Trevor, resist it.....

The calendar is not a K-Mart exclusive. I saw it pretty much everywhere I went today.

Anyone been to Sears, Blockbuster, Border's, Barnes and Nobles or Costco? We haven't heard about any exclusives at the stores, but they usually have something.

What's this about a poster available with pre-order from Best Buy? I pre-ordered and received no such thing.

I got in a huge thing with a best buy employee about that just a few minutes ago. The day I pre-ordered when I asked for my poster. I was told I would get the poster the day of release by one of Best buy's best, NOW they tell me you should have gotten it the day of the pre-order. Oh how I love playing the game "your word, against mines."

Also, Did anyone get a deck of playing cards?

And Best buy didn't have a steelbook...did they?

When I was at Blockbuster today I saw that they had the Lost Season 4 DVD sets for $44.99.

On the front of it there was a peelie for $20 off if you purchase other seasons on DVD or Blu-ray. I assume it was a coupon. Not sure, I didn't peel it off.

Not sure if that is a Blockbuster exclusive.

I went to Walmart and there was no exclusive bonus disc. The price was freakin' $44.96 for the DVD!!! That is ridiculous!

Last year it was $34.99 and it was longer season and it had an exclusive bonus disc.

Seemed like they didn't really care about the Lost Season 4 DVD/Blu-ray release. There were only 5 copies available on a small endcap. Horton Hears A Who and The Dark Knight had their own huge cardboard display cases w/ tons of copies available.

It's sad that that The Dark Knight has tons of extras and bonus items at multiple stores and we didn't even get one exclusive item for LOST this year. All we got was a higher price tag. It sucks.

Just FYE and Suncoast have the steelbook. I went to best buy in the morning and they do not have it. Just the other exclusives. I missed out on most of everything of best buy since i just bought just a Batman figure, everyone else ran before me to get the exclusives.

Last year, the Walmart I went to was selling at full MSRP, and I had to price matched it to CC's thirty-something price. This year, there's no need for a bonus disc because the shorten-season set has two discs just for bonus feature already (disc 1-4 contain all the episodes, while disc 5 and 6 have enough features that Buena Vista believe they can charge you full price as a full season set.)
Honestly, it is exhausting to track all of these store exclusives, especially when they have multiple ones, and especially when you know sooner or later there would be a double-dip release with other bonus stuff.

Does anyone know what happens if you decide to return one of the Lost Season DVDs? Do you lose the $20 discount or have to give back the $20 gift card or something?

Also, does anyone know if you can purchase 2 copies of Season 4 and get the $20 savings or $20 gift card?

AMEN, brother!

Speaking of which, yesterday I stumbled upon a Best Buy exclusive "Masters of the Universe" (2002 version) complete series box set, featuring all 3 existing season sets inside a slipcover, along with a 4th pack-in box of extras. I didn't look too closely, but it seems like the extras are the previously-offered Best Buy exclusives, including the comic book of the unproduced 40th episode. Priced $49.99, no first week sale.

And again... AMEN to the above! Please make it stop!

I remember seeing that set at Best Buy about a month ago, so it's not the first week on sale. I'm waiting for them to drop the price on the set like they do with many of their exclusives down the road.
