Nice. Is the $2 sale on new DVDs to the store or the older, $3 ones as well? May have to stop in soon.

Wish my Big Lots had these deals. Only thing i can find are generic cartoons of Robin Hood and other characters like that.

Based on the list posted by the OP they are *all* the older $3 ones. They are *still* $3 here.

And based on past experience it is NOT the $3 dvds ALREADY in the store. It is a NEW shipment of titles already marked $2--which happen to be titles already sold for $3, if you follow me.

Confirming this at Lakewood store in SoCal. There weren't too many though. Picked up:

Mr.Saturday Night
The January Man
Life Stinks (Mel Brooks)
The Dark Half (George Romero)

Is it OK to move this discussion to the normal Big Lots thread?

Mine still doesn't carry dvds, they have like less than 20 and all titles i never heard of. I think mine's store manager must not want them or its a high volume theft store or something but they never get dvds in.

I got Bubba Ho-Tep, Dirty Work, and a handful of anime discs at $2/3 a piece a while back.

Yep, same titles my store gets over and over. They are still $3 at my store as well, so this is a huge YMMV. I do wish they would have some new titles for BF.

Yep! They'll probably put out the "new" and/or back room stock (maybe the same thing) at $2 for BF and afterwards, for a while, there'll be a mix of identical titles selling at $2 or $3. Watch those price stickers!

And, yes, let's move this discussion to the general BL thread.

Interesting. I was just told by someone fairly high up in the BL food chain that the Black Friday cd's are $3.00, that it's a Sony display & that they're explicitly not allowed to sell them before Black Friday under pain of death & dismemberment!

DVDs or death and dismemberment?

Personally, I'd choose the DVDs.

Personally, once I'm dead, I no longer will be bothered too much by dismemberment.

My BL had the 2.00 display (in the back). They didn't know when they would put it out. Did have the slashed-thru Warner titles.

Correcting my post from yesterday: The $2.00 MGM/Sony DVD's are meant for Black Friday. Apparently many stores are putting them out early. The batch I looked at was mostly titles I've seen in BL before, with a few exceptions; most notably Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex. (I'll pst the other new titles I saw later this weekend).

Also saw the new Warner batch; my source had those confused with the BF batch. The Warner titles I saw are the same as others have posted in the main BL thread.

That is what my BL told me today as well. The 2.00 DVDs are in the back and when I called the checkout woman told me that the BL BF ad said that they were for Friday .

These titles have been there for well over a week. I saw all of those last Thursday, not this past Thursday the one before that.

I'm going to call the Salem,Oregon store tomorrow and see if they have this sale going on now,or when will it start..if so
I hit them up along with Save-a-lot,Ross and few pawnshops should put me in the RED RED... :-)

As the Big lots in Albany,Or closed down this year along with 1 of 2 stores in Salem. So I'll have to drive about 20 miles to Salem.

I give update latter..
