That one I have seen. I rented it on VHS back in the olden days. I liked it and want to see it again, but I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to quit buying so many dvds. They're not making it easy.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

The store closest to me got the batch that's been recently mentioned here. No Maltese Falcon, but pretty much everything else.

Here's a few I don't REMEMBER having seen posted:

Born To Kill (1947 Clare Trevor)
Without Limits (Prefontaine Story)
Caberet
Picking Up The Pieces (Woody Allen)
Good Night & Good Luck (George Clooney)
Mrs Soffel (Diane Keaton)
Before Sunrise

oddly the larger of the 2 stores closest to me got nothing.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

I went to the 3rd store in my city. They get truck on Wednesday; I don't know if I saw this week's batch, or a 2 week old batch. It was the stuff that the other stores got 2 weeks ago. While quantity was pretty picked over, there were still lots of good titles. I saw a couple I hadn't seen elsewhere:
Roberta (1935 Dunne/Astaire/Rogers)
The Promise (Mandarin Chinese)
King's Row (1945 Sheridan/Reagan)

& 1 copy of a 2 dvd Hannibal Lector Anthology for $5. It didn't have a price tag. The clerk had to look up the sku, & then she wrote it on the shrink wrap with a big felt pen. GRR.

BL Distribution lines have no logic, however usually the same stores get their shipments first and some stores get more shipments of a particular type of DVD. I know a store that never, ever has received an anime title and that store always gets more children DVDs than the rest. Some stores are even blessed with a large selection of VHS titles The only way to figure it out is going there often.

Yeah, the store I call #3 is in a Hispanic neighborhood & they get lots of Spanish language dvd's & less of the English batches.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

I called the Kennett Square, PA store today to check on City of Lost Children and Wise Guys, but no new shipment this week. This location seems to be a week or two behind the others, so I am keeping my fingers crossed about next week. I am guessing the Aston, PA store has them at this point, but I can't justify a 45 minute drive to save $ on a $3 DVD.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

The constant streams of new titles is fantastic. I feel like eventually every movie will appear. I did restrain myself this time with the new shipment. I only bought what I knew for sure I would watch. Even at 3 bucks you can rack up a big bill pretty quick.

I know! I went to Big Lots looking for two specific titles and ended up buying around 40 titles. I put a couple back to stroke my ego that I have will power. Only found one of the titles.
