Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
Another re-shipment was put out of the Warner/Sony Classics. Saw a lot of To Sir With Love and From Justin to Kelly (charging three dollars for this should be illegal). If anyone has been able to find City of Lost Children I will send over a To Sir With Love.

Modesto, CA (eastside store)
Hit the local BL today to find new stock carefully stacked in with the existing old stock on the rack. Also, there was a cardboard display of "family titles," it was one of those boxy displays that actually held very little actual merchandise. It had like Garfield, John Hughes titles, Thunderbirds, etc
Picked up for $3 each:
Boom Town
Cannonball Run II (FS)
The Frisco Kid
Shaft (1971 original)
Anna Christie (Greta Garbo in both US & German versions)
The Name of the Rose
Tess (Special Edition)
A Man for All Seasons
Also saw:
It's Alive!
Baby's Day Out
Curley Sue
Arthur (FS)
Saw none of "To Sir with Love" or "City of Lost Children"

Just went to Burien Washington BL. I rarely hit this store as it's a bit of a drive, but they seem to get more dvd's then any of the other local BL's. I was told the batch was put out on Thursday & it was pretty picked over, but still saw several Warner & Sony titles that were new to me:
Curly Sue
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
The Revenge Of Frankenstein
The Curse Of Frankenstein
A Star Is Born (Judy Garland)
The Man From Monterrey (John Wayne)
Boom Town (Clark Gable Hedy Lamarr Spencer Tracy)
My Favorite Wife (Irene Dunne)
Doctor Faustus (Burton,Taylor)
3 Worlds Of Gulliver (Ray Harryhausen)
The Frisco Kid (Harrison Ford)
Helen Of Troy (1963)

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
At a Dayton, OH Big Lots I picked up for $3.00 each today-
The Lonely Guy (Steve Martin, Widescreen)
1941 (Aykroyd & Belushi, Collector's Edition restored & widescreen)
Both were previously reported quite a while back...the bar codes end in "029" instead of the current wave ending in "039" such as with Ten Little Indians.
So, maybe a big YMMV on these two. No slashed bar codes on the cases so that's good!

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
Hello, If anyone is looking for City Of Lost Children they had about a half dozen of them at BL in Torrington CT. Also, was able to get 2 more copies of To Sir With Love. I am really looking for the Fox In A Box set that they had a while back. If anyone has it I would trade the 2 Sirs for it or we could work something out.
Thank you .
John

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
S. Plainfield NJ got a big restock.
I only grabbed Shaft (the '71 original). It's a WS/FS flipper.
Also saw a few I hadn't seen here in NJ before:
Bullitt
Tess
The House On Haunted Hill (1999)
My Life Without Me (I already own this - great film)
Cannonball Run II (would've grabbed this, but it's FS only, so I passed)
I spotted pretty much everything that has been mentioned except "To Sir With Love".
Also never spotted this "City Of Lost Children" movie I keep seeing mentioned. May I ask what the big interest in this one is?

My Big Lots got a tray of dvd's in today no Frankensteins, no Mark of the Vampire, and no To Sir With Love. They did have a dvd I haven't seen listed yet an anime "TekkonKinkreet" never heard of it before but I bought it.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
went looking for a copy of "wise guys" but couldnt find any, but, I did find a copy of "the kids in the hall" reunion tour dvd. it is very funny, not just a rehash of old bits, quite a bit of new material as well as new live versions of the old classic sketches. if you are a fan of "kids in the hall" or you enjoyed the live monty python dvds, you will not be disapointed.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
Picked up (in SoCal) Shaft ( the original), Bad Education ( a well reviewed Pedro Almodovar flick), My Favorite Wife, Dogma, Bela Lugosi in '43 Return of the Vampire ( looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, but since Universal owned "Dracula" and this is Columbia, not the Count) and several of the previously mentioned Legend titles ( My Man Geodfry, Little rascals..SH and the Secret Weapon, and "maybe the worst movie ever made" ED Woods Plan 9 from Outerspace. Passed on the John Wayne.. but was tempted by the Shrews/Gila Monster double feature :-)
