Just got the Seasons 2 & 3 in the mail, they shipped Priority. And the charges are still pending, so I'm hoping they won't charge until the Season 1 ships. I think shipping charge of $2/season is reasonable.

Just got off the phone with customer service, Cynthia, and she simply refunded me the shipping plus tax on the shipping. $8 saved is $8 earned. Total time on phone 8 minutes, only because her computer froze up on her once.
Oh, and thanks to the poster who gave me the heads up on the free shipping!

So I called to see if I could get my shipping costs refunded. The CS rep told me to order all three DVD sets again and she would cancel my first order. I asked if this was the easiest way to do this and she said "Yes -- for me it is."
Guess what happened next: Yep, my first order shipped (minus the backordered Season 1). The order was never canceled. So I called to have my second order canceled. Guess what! Yep, part of my second order was getting ready for shipment and couldn't be canceled.
So, trying to get $7.50 back cost me $40. The second CS rep said I'll have to bring the second order back to the store for a refund. Effin' Best Buy.

I see I wasn't the only one who had to deal with a "frozen" customer service computer. I ordered all three seasons on the 18th in the early morning, several hours before the stores in my area open. Anyway, BestBuy.com indicated that the closest store to me had Seasons 2 and 3 available, so I selected them for pick up and Season 1 for online shipping. Once the store opened, I got an email from BestBuy.com informing me that my store didn't have either set in stock. I started to do another order, just to see if the email was accurate. Sure enough, when I tried to select Seasons 2 and 3 for pick up, my store now showed Unavailable. So I called Best Buy to have them change my order. I was on the phone for probably 15 minutes before the CS rep told me her computer locked up on her, so I would have to call back later.
I was pretty frustrated at this point, so I waited until the afternoon to call back. Anyway, this time the order got changed pretty quickly. I had Seasons 2 and 3 changed to deliver to my address, and got a shipping notification for both of them on the 19th. I'm hoping they get Season 1 back in stock fairly soon - I wouldn't think they would set up a sale like this if they didn't plan on having enough Season 1 sets available, but after my experience I have my doubts. Why can't you change the order on the website? It shouldn't be a problem to change the pick up to another store, or change to regular delivery without having to call in.
The only nice thing about this experience was that I wasn't charged for shipping on Seasons 2 and 3. I just hope the sets aren't damaged, which is apparently common due to the packaging on the Remastered sets.

I received my season 1 set today - the case is pretty cracked up. I'm debating if I should try for another or just live with it. If it was season 2 or 3 I could trade it at the local BB but since its season 1 (which appears to be out of stock everywhere) I would have to return to by mail.

John,
Is the Season 1 set you recieved still the HD-DVD/DVD combo set (I thought I heard they might be dropping the HD-DVD side in future pressings)? I also received a badly cracked Season 3 set in the mail that I had to exchange twice before I found an undamaged set. I'm enjoying the content of these sets but the packaging appears to be easily damaged and not very durable. My Season 1 set has been shipped. As you mentioned, exchanging damaged Season 1 sets may not be easy given the scarcity of them.

I almost wish they'd kept the HD DVD side (even though the format was dead by then) on seasons 2 & 3 since they're just blank and look like flipper discs. Oh well. My S1 set shipped as well. I hope the thing doesnt get banged up in the post....

This is one reason I ordered the only remaining season I didn't already own (3) from Amazon instead for the same price. It was shrink wrapped to a larger cardboard base that fit neatly to the bottom of the box. For some of these season sets that are damage prone I always goes this route, they have the best packaging approach for DVD sets.

I did think about this since it is a pretty good deal, but I have to say that I'm going to wait for Blu-ray on this one. I've had the original sets since they came out (and will always be my prefered versions) but I have seen some of the remastered versions on broadcast TV and they are pretty cool. Since they already went though the trouble to remaster them in hi def, a Blu-ray version cant be very far off. If not 2009 when the movies are expected, then I'd bet 2010 for sure. I can wait,

I have no idea how accurate this is but I read somewhere that Toshiba was involved in the process or cost related to getting TOS season 1 remastered for HD, and that there is some hangup as a result in getting them to BR. Like I said I have no idea how accurate but I did see it somewhere.
