Man, I wish we could get a straight answer on the sale code. From the November 10th dvdpricesearch.com update page (emphasis added):

DVD PLANET COUPON
* Use the coupon code 25offsale to get 25% off DVDs (not valid with pre-orders, multiple use per customer, expires 11/23/08)

Well, I would say that the straight answer comes directly from DVDPlanet.com, where, if you try to use the coupon a second time, it won't let you. It doesn't matter what anyone else says if the site won't let you use it 2+ times.

Also, I received an e-mail from DVDPlanet advertising the sale, and the fine print read that the coupon was for one-time use only (per account, address, household, etc.). Unlike me, I hope everyone else thinks long and hard and puts together a "final" order before using the coupon! If I decide to buy anything else from the sale, it will have to be with DD.

I don't understand how people are ordering 11/11 release titles and getting the discount at DVD Planet. When I punch in SAVE the prices for the 11/11 titles do not change, but the other titles do. I'm trying to order Son of the Beach v2 and some Disney Treasures...

Don't forget that two codes work - 25OFFSALE and SAVE (or SALE, I forget which one it is).

I've already used both, and I already wish that I could do it just once more time.

Don't know if this has been mentioned already, but the DVDPLanet sale ends on Nov 23 (from an e-mail I received from them today).

I ordered 7 Blu-ray titles. If only these were the regular prices for BDs. I probably would've placed another order if I'd had another code (I used 25OFFSALE for an initial small order, and then SAVE for this one).

Why merge the Orders Thread?

what is the reasoning for this? now, you have DD orders in the DVD Planet thread and vice versa. People liked just seeing the orders and now you have everything mixed in with everything else and that logic eludes me. i have no interest reading what works and doesn't, i liked to look at just orders. just curious...

Man, how is it that DD can get their act together but Dvdplanet has many screwups including code issues and certain titles not reflecting their discounts?

You can really look at it either way. Who wants to search through BOTH sites to see what people bought, when you only want to look through one. And vice versa (wanting to see what people bought at both).

However, they're essentially the same thing, just duplicated. There's really no reason for a separate thread with people posting what they bought. They were doing it in here. I split them up the best I could. There's only a few DeepDiscount posts in here. The split was basically equal (4 pages each). Most people made a post with both stores same post. If they did I put the larger order in the appropriate thread.

It's not really a big deal. The sale isn't what it use to be. The threads don't grow like they use to, having 1000, 2000+ post posts per company.

Although I understand the original intent for the separate threads, I don't think it was working well. People were still posting orders in the other thread, giving us two places to look. Personally, I'd rather have one place to look, so I like them merged... Thanks, Pilot!

I ordered the three new Disney Treasures at DVD Planet last week, and several days later I received an e-mail from them saying that these titles were no longer available (and my order disappeared from my order history). I'm hoping to be able to order them tomorrow (11/11). They are listed as not available at Deep Discount.

Could someone direct me to the link for "Vexille" Blu-Ray at DVD Planet? I just can't find it under a title search, or by release date of Blu-Rays. I did see it on someone's "order" list, so it must be there somewhere! Thank you!

Add the titles to your wishlist and then move to your cart, or add them to your cart from the search page.

ETA: Sorry, I notice that you were talking about some specific titles!

I ordered it.

It's no longer listed on the site, and in my order history that title is listed as "On Order With Manufacturer".

I doubt I'll get it from them, ugh.

I placed an order on Saturday for about 40 items. At the time, only 2 of them were listed as "Temp. Out of Stock." I paid for standard shipping and when I check the status of the order today, 11 of them say "Backordered." It is sort of disheartening to see. Is their stock indicator not always correct? They will ship the ones that are available first I hope? And then the rest as they become available?

Any idea how long it takes for stock to replenish? Most of the stuff that says backordered is mainstream and/or popular but I am worried about the Unsolved Mysteries Complete collection that I don't think has much interest.

Thanks for any answers!
Shane

davethomasowns,

That seems to happen a lot, where something shows in stock originally, but is backordered in status. But yes, they do ship out all the available titles first, and others as they become available.

I ordered an item that was out of stock on Thursday but it shipped out today. I would think the speed of replenishment varies greatly from item to item depending on their supplier.

Is the code still working at DVD Planet for tomorrow's releases for anyone? I tried placing an order for 2 items, including a Disney Treasure and it didn't take the discount off of the DT set.

Ah, I must have missed that before. That must be the case because I just tested a release for next Tuesday and it worked. That sucks.
