Make sure to get the Image disc, it looks less horrible. Also, check out the recent BFI book on the film, it's excellent.

I thought so as well but DVDPlanet emailed me to say that "Walt Disney Treasures: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" (street date 11/11/08) was discontinued. I can't any news that Disney did any such thing.

so about how long will this sale last? If I shipped them a box of used discs tomorrow does anyone think I'll have a chance of getting the credit before the sale is over?

From my experience I would say you have a 10% chance.

SAVE gives 25% off (even on pre-orders). I just used it at 4:45pm CST on Friday.

Catalog: BBC042022 (new)
Title: Doctor Who - The Complete Fourth Series
Qty: 1
Price: $52.48

Catalog: COL026382 (new)
Title: Three Stooges Collection: 1940-1942
Qty: 1Price: $16.85

Total: $69.33
Shipping: $0.00 (Free Economy Shipping)
Sales Tax: $0.00
Store Credit: $69.33
Total Order: $0.00

I do have a question about the cashbaq 4% deal: I've gone through the cashbaq link for both of my DVD Planet orders, but nothing is showing up yet on cashbaq. Could it be that because both of my orders were completely covered with store credit -- note my order above shows "Total Order = $0.00" even though I really spent $69.33 of store credit -- that I won't get the 4% back? Anyone know?

If you're referring to the msn.com live search cash back program, it'll take maybe a week or more to be reflected in your "live" account. At which point contact live.com's customer service if it still hasn't shown up.

It's not discontinued. Disney just doesn't want it (and some others) in the sale.

SAVE worked for me for a pre-order too (Third Man Blu-Ray). The deal still seems about as good as the usual 20% off because of the higher prices overall. I'm not complaining, though. As least it's not lower.

Yeah, "SAVE" is good for 25% off. That code was really just a guess when I couldn't get "SALE" to work. Not sure why I thought it was giving me 10%; it is in fact taking off the 25%.

He is not referring to MSN'S cashback. He's referring to cashbaq, mentioned earlier in this thread (which was the first time I had heard of it).

I've also had that happen. Was just informed in another thread that it's a Disney thing. They don't want their products included in the sale.

in the original email announcement it listed all of the DD codes and then said that the savings were good at DVD Planet, doesn't that mean that all of the various codes should work there as well?

I think the codes are re-usable again. I typed in SAVE for a planned second order, and it worked.

Hmmm, The Third Man (Criterion Blu-ray) seems to be the only pre-order I can get the discount on.

Same here had over $1600 before the sale. I used up half of it when I placed my 1st order of 42 Bd titles/box sets. I have 8 more to order from 11/11 and 11/18. Then I will call it quits. I still have over $600 left for the next sale.

Just checked my order and out of those 42 titles, all are in process except American Gangster, Elf, and Fall which are backordered. All titles were in stock when I placed the order yesterday. But 39 out of 42 if damn good. I had a couple more I wanted to order Final Countdown and Mongol but both said they were out of stock yesterday.

Question: Does any one know if you get Dvd Planet Points when using Store Credit?

I did an order at DeepDiscount using the Live cashback, and received confirmation from Live almost immediately.

I did an order from DVD Planet using cashbaq - no store credit involved - and 24 hours later still no word from cashbaq. This is my first experience with cashbaq, and I wonder ....

Cashbaq is much slower than live.com
I had some reliability issue problems with them and changed to ebate*.com for them. People reccommended cashbaq because they give the highest percentage back. Cashbaq did work but not as well as ebate*.com
*********.com and ebate*.com are 2 other alternatives

Great.
Now I don't know who I'm hating worst - Disney or DVDP.
I see they just scratched Dr. Syn: Scarecrow of Romney Marsh from my account...
