Strange! I'm hoping they still ship...
I just got the same email this morning for The Scarecrow - and like you - my account still shows it as a preorder. My guess is that until it is dropped from my account, it is still on order and will eventually ship when it becomes available. This happened once before with a preorder I had place with them.

Is this the time to stock up on Criterion titles, or should one wait for some potential repeat of DD B1G1 offer?

I have no clue. I'm grabbing a couple of Crits, but in doing so I'm being pinned down with my face covered in flatulence as I'm navigating through this site.

I placed two orders yesterday and haven't received an order confirmation for either, nor do they show up under my account. I know sometimes the system gets bogged down during this sale, but I've never had it take ~24 hours for an order confirmation e-mail. Are others getting theirs?

Oh come on DVD Planet, now the code SALE doesn't work. I was depending on using that one to place an order at the very end of this thing.

Ugh.

Yes I have, I used it before I knew it was a one time only use code this time.

The code SALE was working for me last night, when I was testing it, but now it says that the code has expired.

I'm glad I went ahead and placed a 2nd order today using 'sale' as the code (only a few hours ago actually). I was peeved that I rushed a first order yesterday not thinking about any one time use restrictions. So today I placed a big order with the majority of the rest of what I wanted.

For their own sake I hope they get this stuff worked out. I like to use their site when possible to accrue the frequent buyer points, and their overall better Criterion prices. Should be fine though as the sale is going on for a while yet. They should get it corrected soon.

I thought the second code was save; that one worked for me last night.

Now that I think about it I don't remember which it was. Either way sale or save worked for me a few hours ago.

Second order placed with DD:

The announced end date for both sales is Nov. 23, per the Press Release in the DD Sale FAQ thread.

The savings apply to their other sites, too: Critics Choice Video, DVD Planet, and Video Collection.
Note that the sale has been extended beyond the announced end dates in the past.

Scarecrow and Donald 4 have both been deleted from my order status page. Oh well.

I wouldn't necessarily count on another one of those. We'd never seen the likes of that sale before... so I don't know if we can count on it again.

I placed a small order (for two BDs) last night using the 25OFF SALE code. I was about to make a larger order today, but I can't get any codes to work. 25OFFSALE has "already been used" and SALE has "expired". I did discover that SAVE takes off 10%, but of course, I'm not going to use that. I hope some more coupon codes come out...

That's weird; I used it last night, on my second order, and it took off 25%.

So if I used 25OFFSALE already, what do I use?

This blows.

Nothing now it looks like. We have to wait to see if someone at DVDP will make the code unlimited use, or ?

EDIT: Looks like 'save' might be working now. I just tried something in the checkout and 25% was taken off. Would be a 3rd order.

Yeah, it does. I used up a ton of credit during the WB B1G1 box set sale a couple of months ago, but I still have a lot saved for this sale. Hey Planet! Got orders piling up here!

Plus I added a few paperback books. But with all of the pre-orders coming, I'm sure I'll be ordering again.

P.S. - Those who might point out that Trial of a Time Lord is cheaper at DVDPlanet...I'm in California, so the Sales tax makes DD cheaper.
