Oh, yes, but not horror titles, and that sale's been on a week or two now...

Not sure if this is going on at everyone else's BB, but to my surprise my local BB had most of the $4.99/6.99 marked with shelf tags in store.

All the titles I wanted in the lists that weren't listed in the circular rang up as expected

Didn't have to do in-store pick up either!

I just checked out BB's site and they have Pumpkinhead SE listed for $6.99! Strange because it was not on the $6.99 list and i originally was hoping to see this on sale this week. Looks like i'll be making a stop there tomorrow.

On their website BB has The Grudge 2 listed with a bonus disk. I picked it up along with a few others and the package seems a little light for a second disk, and there is nothing on the case that says bonus disk. The girl at checkout said it is the right one. Anyone else get this and open it yet?

So Im at a loss, Im researching the 40th Night of the Living Dead trying to decide if I should buy or not. I own the Millenium now and wonder in what order these are released? I see a millenium, a 30th and now 40th is this correct? And is there really a big improvement becouse from what I can tell its missing the 5.1 audio.

a feature length documentary was added on the 40th anniversary version. Most reviews say the picture looks better than ever, but is zoomed/cropped a couple of places (allegedly to crop out things like boom mics and so on, under Romero supervision even I THINK...).

Picked up C.H.U.D., Silent Night Deadly Night, and a few others. Made judicious use of Best Buy's 10% off coupon and snapped up a few extra Buffy Paley DVDs for free.

I was able to successfully PM the $21.99 CC price on the Bond steelbooks at BB. I didn't push for the "$5 off 2" deal...

Cool. That's what I was thinking of doing as well. I think pushing for the $5 or 2 might ring some bells as well.

I asked for the $19.49 price, explaining the $5 off 2 deal, and after a moment of potential frustration (she tried to call a manager), I explained again, and she went forward. She seemed to do $19.49 on four and $19.99 on two, but that's no big deal to me. The extra 10% came off as well, so it was $116 plus tax for the steelbooks.

Is there any other "completist" out there who is concerned now about getting every one as a steelbook and having to buy them from Best Buy? Will MGM keep using steelbooks to complete the collection? Neither Casino Royale version is a steelbook (right?), so I'm already perplexed.

All the Bonds = MGM (Fox)
Casino Royale and Quantum = Sony

That's why Casino may not be in a SB.

Where did the extra 10% off come from?

Ah, that makes sense. Oh well, I have owned no steelbooks until now, but I admit they look very sweet.

BB's price match policy is to reduce the competitor price further by 10% of the difference as long as you buy first, then price match after.

Same here. They actually pricematched the Casino Royale SE Blu-ray to $21.99 as well, AND The Incredible Hulk Blu-ray to $22.99 (the woman apparently saw CC's price for the 2-disc DVD and thought it was for the Blu-ray, I didn't even ask!) Pretty good outing.

I always forget about that and they never do it for me.

Did anyone get the steelbooks from Best Buy and end up with a "For Your Eyes Only" with a double-disc tray inside the steelbook? What a weird design. It had 2 hubs and the disc was in the top hub where the disc actually has to slide UNDER the bottom tray. What a pain to get it out...

I also left with a Dr. No with a small dent in the steelbook cover. I'm so anal about this stuff that it bugs me and I may have to go through the embarrassment of exchanging it. Heck, I'd like a For Your Eyes Only with only one hub, too, if they exist...

Then again, I just opened From Russia With Love and it has a double-disc tray inside, too. Guess they just used whatever was lying around...

I got my location to match the $21.99, then also take the CC deal of additional $5 per two purchased, then I whipped out the $10 Best Buy coupons in the QofS video game pre-book boxes. The day before I'd put $5 deposits X 7 on these games to get the coupons.

That's when the cashier's eyes crossed. The "senior" (not a manager) came over and said that was double dipping and wouldn't allow it. I pointed out that unlike many of their coupons (like the 10% off coupons they mail out only good on regular priced items) this $10 off Bond DVD/BluRay one didn't exclude sales items or price matches. "Senior" points to price match policy on wall behind counter, which also doesn't address coupon + price match situation. So, I asked to see the price match brochure that has more detailed price match policy. We both read it and again.... nothing about coupon + price match. (It does mention rebates, giftcard offers, etc, but not coupons.) Finally, he said that he would do one, but not all six. I said no thanks, and then went to customer service to get refunds on all the game pre-book $5 things I'd already done.

It seems that their unwritten, unposted "double dip" rule supercedes them actually honoring the terms of their price match policy and their own company-issued coupons.

As I left, they made a snarky comment about the future of Circuit City (one is located literally next door to this BB location), even though they just let money walk out their door...

Oh, and I put back the Looney Tunes Vol. 6 boxset and Casino Royal 40th Anniv. DVD that I was also picking up...

As much as I liked the Steelbook packaging, it just wasn't worth it for me.

I get the concept of stopping people from double-dipping on matches, sales, etc. BUt in a case like this they ARE two separate things. A price match, and then a valid coupon. If the coupon doesn't exclude sale items, they should have taken it.

Anyone pick up the Looney Tunes set yet with the "guide book"? I'm very curious to know what this is and if it's worth making a trip to the store.

Exactly! If I price matched Indy Jones 4 to (for example) CC's cheaper price, then I whipped out the $3 off coupon from Papa John's, would that be double dipping in the eyes of BB?

I don't get it, other than they simply didn't want to sell the Bond blu-ray discs so cheaply.

It wouldn't have mattered if they did let you use the coupon with the price match - their POS won't deal with it. Well, it WILL, just not the way you were wanting it to. I used one $10 off coupon and price matched all 6 to the $21.99 CC price. It ended up price matching to $21.99, then taking off $7 instead of $10 to get the price down to the same $14.99 it would've gone to without price matching.

I'm surprised they didn't just argue against the number of coupons in play since they did say "Limit one per customer". That's why I didn't even attempt it. I would've needed to make a day of it and hit multiple Best Buy's/cashiers to pull that one off.
