Thanks for the post, punit. I already have Close Encounters and Gattaca, though, and the rest don't interest me.

Maybe I'm being too negative, but I'm starting to get the impression that Blu-ray titles aren't going to get much cheaper in time for Christmas shopping.

I'm contemplating getting a Blu-ray player, but the lack of titles that I'd actually buy at retail price are so few and far between that I keep putting it off.

Deals on Blu-ray titles have been stagnant for 6 months now. This stuff is just too expensive... they make Criterions look cheap. I've picked up like 1 BR a month for the last six months when I would have purchased 20-30 titles had there been decent sales.

I continue to expect good sales Nov-Dec and running into Jan-Feb.

Horrible deal ever & most Blu Ray is not worth $5 on my book. You can get DVDs version very cheap ;)

To be fair, the holiday sales don't start popping up until about now, and even the BOGOs that people fondly remember didn't hit until September last year. People tend to forget that sales weren't that hot for a lot of 2007 until late. Not saying 2007 wasn't better overall or won't end up being better, but the best sales tend to come at the end. And it's as much about perception as reality.

Expect blu-rays to be around $10 in 4-5 weeks time.
