Sure, you probably love going on adventures, but don't like it when your packages go on adventures of its own?

Also to cinemaphile, who was the carrier for your package?

Borders uses the UPS equivalent of FedEx SmartPost for most of their shipments.

Those two shipping methods are about as fast, accurate, and reliable as attaching the parcel to helium balloons and hoping it lands on the recipient's doorstop.

oh my god... and I thought I was the only one! I live in tennessee (but don't hold that against me) and my packages that shipped from borders last week have been thru indianapolis, then to atlanta, then to southaved mississippi... and they sat there with no movement for 2 full days... and then started moving again (hopefully in my direction?)... I'd hoped to have them by saturday since monday is a mail holiday, but it's not looking good...

My last order arrived with my paperback's spine bent and the cd was cracked. I called customer care and a new order was sent out with 1 day shipping free. The Fedex driver dropped it off and said that my first package must have been damaged during packing because he thought something was off.

I have to give customer care some credit for giving me the 1 day shipping free and believing me that my items were unreadable and unplayable. I know they've had a rough transition since May to the new borders.com and the 80% coupon mess, but the woman I dealt with was wonderful.

I wish there would be another 40% off online coupon. I have some Borders gift cards I want to use and they have horrendous, nail bending prices

There is a 40% Off Coupon good on single-disc CD's today and tomorrow (right here), so hopefully the coupon gods will cycle separate ones for a book, dvd & dvd set in the coming days and/or weeks (fingers crossed!).

Those CD coupons go here since they are non-dvd bargains.

Also the constant 20% off coupon seems to be back at the following link.

There will be book and DVD coupons upcoming, but Borders is apparently going to be using them in scattered markets this season instead of everyone getting the same thing. Stores are being told to keep an eye on which coupons are currently active in their area and, from the sound of it, may not be accepting ones that aren't "localized" so to speak. So the coupons posted here for the next few months could be YMMV depending on how attentive (or not) your store is.

Too bad they can't hire some decent IT people to make sure their computer systems could be truly regional instead of having their workers do the hard work. I'm expecting plenty of 'we'll do it THIS time' nonsense, but all and all it's just sad.

I posted the deal in a separate thread since it is for a short time and some members only check this place for coupons.

If you're a college student and you have an idea what textbooks you'll need next semester, this is the perfect coupon. Borders prices are already >25% lower than my school's bookstore without the coupon.

That coupon goes here, since it doesn't apply to DVDs.

It appears that they finally shut down the loophole that allowed us to access the old site to check story inventory with a much higher degree of accuracy.

Boo! I loved the old site. It gave accurate in-store pricing as well.
