This is weird. i pre-ordered The Vengeance Trilogy (BD) using a previous 40% off code and received an e-mail last week stating that it was cancelled "... because the item(s) are not available." When i pre-ordered the same item using the recent 40% off code, i received another e-mail stating that my order was cancelled due to the same reason.:brickwl2: Am i missing something? Doesn't making a pre-order generally mean that the item won't be available until the release date? i already sent CS an inquiry, hopefully it's just a system glitch and i can have it resolved. Normally i'd say screw it and get it somewhere else, but a 4-disc BD set @ $38.23 (plus 4% cash back)...:johnwoo:

Wow, I didn't realize there were ANY good deals at Borders. That is, until I found out the Borders Member Card was FREE. I always figured it was $25 a year like B&N. Anyway, I signed up and instantly was able to use the 40% coupon. So I got the following pre-orders:

$10.20 - Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends: Season 4 [2 Discs]
$15.59 - The Evil Dead [Blu-ray]
+ 0.00 - Shipping (free over $25)
+ 0.00 - Tax
--------
$25.79 - Total

I don't collect many dvds, but I noticed a few others that were lower than Amazon's prices:

Dog City (Jim Henson) @ $7.19
Lost season 6 DVD @ $35.99
Leave It To Beaver Complete Series $104.99

^

I already mentioned this in the anime thread. For some unknown reason, the Borders website actually has the list price for anime titles lower than what it should be(20% less in some cases). If you're an anime fan, this glitch makes for some really good deals.

Everything was right on the edge of Amazon or a DDD 25% off sale price, so I just went with Lost Season 6 Blu-Ray since I had a $25 gift card.

It also looks like most of the Star Wars DVDs and Blu-Rays are 50% off list price - See the link (you can't stack any other discounts.) Clone Wars Season 1 Blu-Ray was $30.00.

Just a note on the 40% coupon--there is no limit so you can use it as much as you want.

Like a moron I didn't know that code was for members only and placed an order. It went through and I got a confirmation email shortly after. Anyone else done this? I'm wondering if they are going to cancel it when they find out.

Consider yourself lucky -

Pre-ordered the Kurosawa Eclipse set, sweet deal at 40% off & free shipping. If only we could do something about that pesky state tax this would have been a home run!

Membership is free. Why the heck wouldn't you become a member by now? Also, if I'm not mistaken the code only worked for me when I became a member. So chances are you may already be.

Did anyone get any coupons this week? I usually get an email every week, but haven't received one yet. I've got some Borders Bucks that need to be spent.

I finally got my order, 2 weeks after it shipped, from the 40% sale.

I spent 2 years working at a Borders store, so it was natural for me to somewhat defend whatever was going on.

I am extremely upset that my Battlestar Galactica 4.0/4.5 sets came both with Boxcutter/Razor slashes across the entire front artwork.

What the hell?
