Deals on X-Files: Complete Series??

I've been looking around for a deal on the X-Files: Complete Series and the lowest price I could find was the one at Walmart for $254. Does anyone know of a play that is less than that?

Thanks much!

Bobaray 07-06-08 12:26 PM

Last week Best Buy had all single seasons for $16.99 each. Maybe these prices will be available again soon (if you don't need the "Complete Series").

X Files Complete

You just missed a deal at Costco 170.00 something with a 60$ off coupon, picked mine up for 117.00.

Uh, Sad! I wish I would have got in on that.

Unless you just can't wait ... I would sit on this and wait for November. I'm sure you'll be able to get this pretty cheap.

Just keep monitoring DVD Talk and be ready to jump on the bargain when it posts.

Ason12 07-06-08 07:27 PM

Yeah, I'd prefer to pick it up now and watch it prior to the X-Files movie... but realistically, I would never have time for that. So I'll just keep my eyes peeled.

Amazon has S1 for $16.99 right now. Other seasons are regular prices.

alfredog1976 07-07-08 12:00 AM

Damn I missed out on the Costco coupon. But $180 not that bad, I think I'll bite the bullet and pick up the set. Anyone seen these at Costco still?

namlook 07-07-08 01:55 AM

Amazon was selling the new X-Files ultimate set for $160ish for a long time. Looks like it is out of stock there now.

DarthDVD 07-07-08 07:23 AM

I wish I could remember more about this and the prices but Wal-Mart has a big X-Files display going up today or tomorrow. It includes all the seasons seperately and quite a few special compilation sets with titles like "Black Oil". There was a documentary type title too.

D

Just wait it out partner.

I would bet my life that when the new motion picture comes out, a few weeks before , or a few weeks after, Amazon will have the complete boxed set of all seasons in the 110.00-140.00 range.

Can't speak for them all, but mine in WI doesn't have any left.

MikeDeN2K 07-07-08 09:09 AM

Is this out of print? It seems pretty hard to track down.

cinemaphile 07-07-08 11:40 AM

There's a new disc "The Essential Episodes" or something like that, going on sale tomorrow, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other X-Files stuff is on sale to cross-promote.

And as someone above stated, it's safe to say there will be more sales or promotions come november/december when the new movie hits dvd.

DeputyDave 07-07-08 12:27 PM

I'd buy it if it showed up under $100.

"Black Oil" is probably one of the Mythology compilations

Jamers 07-07-08 03:22 PM

When they hit Blu-Ray let me know.

...sigh. Why aren't posts like this deleted?

DVD Polizei 07-07-08 03:56 PM

Because DVD Talk doesn't have NSA capabilities in automatically deleting posts and screening minds. And I prefer it that way. :)

AGuyNamedMike 07-07-08 03:56 PM

Because these characters lend character to the forum. ;)

I was in Fry's today and noticed they had all the seasons for $19.99 each. There have been and will be better deals, but that might be the best at the moment.

DVD Polizei 07-07-08 05:21 PM

Speaking of but not really, I went ahead and scooped up all seasons of Millennium at Best Buy for the hell of it. I've never seen them lower than $16.99 a piece. These $16.99 sales happen about every 3-4 months.

xmiyux 07-07-08 06:48 PM

Heck i would be happy to find them for 20$ a pop. I have the original releases up to the 4th season (back when they retailed for like 120$) so 20$ a season sounds cheap.

Probably with a new complete/ultimate set.

alfredog1976 07-08-08 02:31 PM

So I finally found a Costco with the set (it was my 3rd Costco, they had 2 left after picking one up. Tustin, CA for anyone looking for one in the area). I figure if they have the sale again, I should be able to price adjust it or worst case, return it. At $179, best deal right now. They also come with 2 free movie vouchers.
