Thanks for the heads up. And fyi for anyone who doesn't like using amazon or doesn't feeling like making an account on there, Best Buy also has it for 19.99 online, but add 1.99 for standard shipping + state tax. Better imo to buy another 5 dollar dvd and get free shipping from Amazon.

And a reviewer said that this was filmed in fullscreen, but this version puts it into widescreen. would I be better off buying a set which keeps the OAR intact? Or is this still the superior version of the mini-series? Thanks

It actually seems like it was filmed in a format which get cropped in both releases (on the sides in the original release, on the tops/bottoms of this newer release).

The review here at DVD Talk talks more on it (with screen captures from both releases to compare).

While the above mentioned issues are present, the content of these episodes is superb and easily worth the $20.

Thanks for the help dhmac. I've been coming to dvdtalk solely for the bargains for so long, i forget it has dvd reviews lol.

Seeing how both aspect ratios cut stuff off from the screenies, I'm gonna jump on this deal. I was especially sold by the fact that the reviewer said it was second only to BoB, which I love.

Now to find something over 5.01 to get free shipping...

oh, and thanks again to TC for posting, and dh and lord for your opinions.

Amazon had it for $14.99 in November 2007. Good series. I especially enjoyed the Melies episode.
