Wow, don't do that.

FYE.com site MRSP: $53.99

Rightstuf.com site sale price right now: $39.99

(Note: Rightstuf Free shipping at $49.00. So basically you could have gotten another title at $10.00 to push yourself into that free shipping spot and still save money compared to buying from FYE).

I say go ahead and cancel that FYE order....NOW.

Wow...you actually paid retail price on this. There are much better pricing for this collection. One thing to keep mind is that online retailers may list select ADV titles as OOS, but they do get them as needed (if there are pending orders).

???

Member pricing is for Backstage Pass members only. You apply your Backstage Pass member number sometime during the checkout process. If you're not a backstage Pass member, you get the Our Pricing.

Thanks. Now the links actually reflect true sale price. Apparently the site was not sale active yesterday when clicking the links. All prices were MRSP yesterday despite your post (i.e. Fullmetal Alchemist season part 1: $49.99, part2: $49.99, or something to that extent, etc).

Definitely not certain, but my guess would be $29.99 (and $26.99 with backstage pass).

Either way, I have some stuff to trade in.Too bad they don't have extra 20% going on in-store, since it'd help

That's good to know.

If I were you, I would create a list of either backlogs or desired anime titles you want. Say it's 10 titles for the time being. If you can find at least one of those titles new and on sale at FYE.com, then I would suggest buying that with trade-in credit. And save the alloted amount that you would have used to buy Kaleido Star Season 2 elsewhere where the price is for certain at a lower bracket.

Let's just say your trade in credit amounts to $30.00 dollars. FYE.com retail price for Kaleido Star Season 2 (KSS2) is $53.99 ($54.00). You will be paying $24.00 dollars cash for KSS2. On the surface, $24.00 may look like a bargain, but then again, you are technically paying $54.00 plus tax.

And if you can find 3 backlog titles with a better sale price tag at FYE.com compared to either rightstuf or deepdiscount or another bargain e-tailer, the FYE-credit application would be smart.

Basically, it's always wise to use FYE credit towards a sale item rather than full FYE retail on account of the fact that FYE-retail is usually well over MRSP. The trade-in credit method simply converts FYE.com's retail price to what it normally would be at MSRP elsewhere.

Hope that makes sense.

Yeah, It makes sense, but it's cheap stuff I've bought at random stores, so I don't mind parting with it. I was gonna give it away anyways.

Also keep in mind that you're best bet is to use the FYE credit online at wherehouse.com or secondspin.com -- using Kaleido Star Season 2 as the example again, I've seen it in stock some of the time for $35.99 for a used copy. If you can catch it during one of the 20% off sales, even better.

Ok.

For me though, the same philosophy applies. I have bought dirt cheap DVDs from various vendors, but I still try to get my moneys worth. You're never really going to see me walk out of FYE with anything paid retail even if I have a boatload of credit. Unless of course I have absolutely no anime backlog, and the title is an on the spot must have and no on-line retailer even carries it, then I'll part with my credit and cash out on a new FYE anime DVD.

I already have both seasons of Kaleido Star with the exception of one volume to season 1. It certainly wasn't something I was interested in based on cover art alone, but after watching an early season 1 episode, I was totally hooked. My assumption is that its definitely a worthy addition to any anime/cartoon library.

Only if you don't care about disc scratches would I go that route. It certainly would be best to wait for a 20% discount sale to drop. Although secondspin and wherehouse has a policy of taking only pristine scratch-free discs, I have heard that's not what buying customers usually receive. Often times the "used" products shipped to customers have surfaces scratches, whether they're major or minor I can't say. And other times, customer have received perfect conditioned discs. So it's basically a hit and miss.

Rightstuf has a brand new sealed version of Kaleido Star Season 2 priced at $39.99 as of right now. I personally would rather pay the extra $4.00 dollars to get a completely brand new version versus potentially receiving a collection with scratched discs.

I'll probably get it from Rightstuf then.
I didn't trade it in, since they wouldn't take any of my dvd's :P

I'll try to find a discount code or something.

The $39.99 is the Weekly Special pricing. It's not eligible for additional discounts.

TRSI Weekly Specials end early on Thursday mornings. There is no guarantee of this collection being on next week's special. If it's not on the special, it will go back to its regular pricing of about $53.98 (10% off the retail price).

Deep Discount has it in stock for $38.92 with free shipping. You would have to add another $9.01 to your order to receive free shipping at RS.

I got the first one at BB, since it came out to around 20 shipped, and loved it.
I don't know if I should buy it now, since it's getting harder and harder to find.
If you like DVD extras, you could always get the singles at RS for $35.94, then pad the order to $49 to get free shipping.

I personally would stay away from DVD Pacific. They had a security breach with personal information(credit card) a couple of years ago and I still don't trust them. Just my 2 cents.

I personally have never had an issue with them. The majority of the complaints I have ever heard either involved having "too good to be true" orders being cancelled (like trying to buy 2 $200 box sets for 60% off combined with a B1G1 sale and then complaining when they ran out) or were complaints about how slow the USPS is (not really anything Deep Discount can do about that).
