To TallGuyMe:
Yes, they have been cooperative in that their response to my email was extremely fast - compared to only Amazon (which can't be beat). Because the order consists of used DVDs, you can't help assume the worst when you order them especially if such a lingering suspicion is 'upheld' by the arrival of beat-up or missing stuff.
Given that my genre of choice is 'Drama', perhaps you were justified in calling me a drama queen..just a bit of problem with the gender though. At least the last time I looked, I was not a 'queen'.
Peace, brother.

I don't know how they can afford to sell PPV DVDs with the insane way they handle the shipping. I noticed it was half-assed last time I ordered, so I decided to track the progress of how this one went down. Read it and laugh/weep/do the samba.

They are full screen unless specified otherwise. How do I know?
From their email back to me:
They come as full screen unless they say different

I don't think I will order again. They sent me single disk of 'Tideland' which was a 2 disc edition. And then they sent it again when I called for a replacement. Replacement was a single disc as well. Same happened with 'Casino Royale'. Then they credited me for not sending out 'Broken Trail' - a week later, I received 'Broken Trail' - I had been charged again after the refund. But the disc was in a terrible condition.
I decided it was not worth it to keep hassling them and me. But they have a long way to go before they can/should get into selling PVDs

However, for the rest of us, familyvideo has been a GREAT avenue to pickup cheap used DVD's. ALL of mine have been excellent quantity (I've probably ordered about 50 titles at this point). They too for some reason only sent me the 1st disc of Inland Empire, I emailed nicely, they sent out another copy, this time with both discs.
I won't get into their wonky shipping however...
best of luck to you.

i just discovered the used dvds on this site. crazy prices on recent releases for reals. i place an order for just 2 items. and if it goes well then ill order more. i also found a free shipping code. it is GAMEPRO7
i used them successfully twice back in november when they had the $5 off $5 sale, which was also crazy. so i am optimistic. but whats up with all the drama in this thread. people get wacky around here in the summertime

Thanks for the code, SendHelp. Just placed another order of 4. I've been impressed by the quality of the discs so far and had great service the one time I had an issue.
For a dollar more than the cost to rent, I can buy a DVD to watch when I want to.

I agree with you in that I prefer buying over renting, but renting is only $1 a title really.

I don't use Redbox anymore after coming home a few too many times with unplayable discs.
Was mainly comparing to local rental places which run $3-5 for a rental. Nobody can beat the rental value of Netflix, but then I have a harder time justifying my DVD-buying addiction. :P
