Completely agree. Wish Roman Coppola were making more films. |
There were also a couple other titles I wanted, but all 3 copies of each were floaters. Can't remember what they were now though either
Did anyone find The Pink Panther or the newer version of Strikes Again? (the one I found was the older version with old artwork UPC#027616750327) All the other PP titles were the newer versions. |
Saw three or four Midnight Movies including:
Dunwich Horror Killer Klowns Fall of the House of Usher Also saw: Sure Thing Live and Die in LA Pink Panther Cartoon collections (2 different ones) Would love to pick up Prizzi's Honor and Paths of Glory. Will have to keep a look out for them. This looked like they had put together half the display. So, crossing fingers for more later this week. -Beebs |
Wow, I went to my BL last night and they had the same stuff as last week, with possibly a few more of the $4 IMAX nature films. I can't wait til we get the big MGM restock. There's some good stuff in there.
|
Today I picked up:
- 8 Heads In A Duffel Bag - Ntnl Lampoon's Dorm Daze unrated - Killer Klowns From Outer Space - Rollerball SE (2002) - What's The Worst That Could Happen? SE |

Just checked my Big Lots and they had the other five in the new versions but Strikes Again was only available in the old version so I didn't pick that one up. I may have to buy the Pink Panther, Strikes Again and Return of in the Deep Discount sale to complete the collection. I also picked up the two Errol Morris films (too bad they didn't have Thin Blue Line, but I guess that might be asking for too much) and Paths of Glory. |
I stopped by Big Lots today and they had 2 new cardboard displays with the MGM movies set up. I picked up the following for $3 each:
Bubba Ho-Tep The Woman in Red (1984) The Yes Men Ring of Bright Water Amityville 3-D Christmas Carol The Movie (Animated) Gangster no. 1 Rollerball (1975) Rollerball (2002) Thunderbirds Are Go Undertow |
Other stuff I remember:
The Falcon And The Snowman Manhunter (FS) For Love Of Ivy The Fog (remake) Amityville Horror (not sure which) Scanners Needful Things Carrie (TV remake) Salvador (SE) Gangster No.1 Invasion Of The Body Snatchers ('78) |
Picked up a few titles. Thanks for the info guys.
Question. Did anybody who picked up "The Yes Men" and or "The Ballad Of Jack & Rose" come with inserts? One other question; it would be nice. But probably unlikely. But... did anybody out there find a copy of "Planet Of The Vampries", a Midnite Movies release. Probably not. Oh yeah. "Bowling For Columbine" is available in two version. The single and two disc sets. I saw an even number of each at my mine (San Bernardino, CA). The packaging gives no indication, give the case a shake. |
^No insert in my copy of Jack & Rose.

I have never seen Gattaca is it any good? I love Uma and I always thought Ethan Hawke as very underrated actor (What's is his best flim?). Unfortunately, I was unable to find a copy of it today at my local Big Lots. |
Tons of new MGM titles. Bought 59 titles in all today...will list tomorrow. 2 titles of significance:
Guys and Dolls (Deluxe Edition with book) Bubba Ho-tep (Limited Edition) $3 of course. |
Updated the master list with all the new MGM titles posted so far and the additional HBO and Sony titles you've given me. Keep 'em coming!
|
Amazing selection of titles, I picked up 26... and could have purchased 10-15 more, easily. I missed the original Rollerball, or I would have snagged that one. The SecondSpin.com, Deep Discount, and the big lots recent waves have added at least 70+ titles to my library, with an average price of maybe $4.50, possibly lower.
I would like to get a Gattaca and Cliffhanger Suberbit... if anyone sees a copy. More than willing to pay total costs plus a couple of bucks for someone's trouble. Looks like my local Big Lots is empty of Columbia/Sony restocks. -beebs |
saw the new display up at the glendora, CA store. picked up to live and die in la. but they didn't have the one i was really looking for: guys and dolls DE. sad. will check other stores later this week.
